If you've tried therapy, was it worth the $$$?
+ FreshFluff replied to + FreshFluff's topic in The Lounge
Yeah, but the context in which Sam used the word in his (possibly satirical) post isn't consistent with either of the usages above. -

"Slut" is usually a gendered insult, but you're right. -

Some therapists add a clause like this to the HIPAA form that you sign: "I may disclose any information about you that is necessary to defend myself in a lawsuit/legal action brought against me involving your care." -

You'd be surprised. Even in 2018, therapists flirt especially when they think they have plausible deniability. -

Why are you calling her a slut? The therapist is the one who pursued her--repeatedly. He's the one taking advantage. It's pretty natural to develop a crush on a therapist. Freud and others spilled a lot of ink on this point. The therapist is the one getting paid, and it's on him to maintain a professional relationship. If the doctor can't conduct himself professionally, he needs to refer the patient to someone else. As for switching, there's a huge power advantage in the doctor/patient relationship, and even more so with therapist. It's awkward and difficult to switch. -
So about male escorts in China.. http://www.sixthtone.com/news/1000797/how-chinas-male-sex-workers-mix-business-with-pleasure “But their earning power was not the only thing that surprised me. I was also intrigued by how blurred the line between selling sex and hooking up often became during these men’s sexual encounters. Most people in China still assume that people who sell sex don’t enjoy it; it is taken for granted that they endure the work to make money. Today, though, many customers who pay for sex are in fact young, conventionally attractive men. MBs themselves are frequently drawn to some of their own customers. In these cases, it becomes complicated to separate transactions between MBs and customers from sex between two or more mutually attracted men.”

I love miniature animals. But like regular horses, it wasn’t bred for air travel and will almost certainly get restless during turbulence.
-
Love the support pony! But yes, it might cause some problems in the air, especially if there is turbulence.

There are plenty of brothels with women escorts in China. I'd be surprised if there weren't any male brothels.

I'm guessing the donkeys were more often forced to carry multiple tourists whose total weight was 300+ pounds rather than one tourist over 220.

Rarely, and never in my bedroom, which I like to keep cold. My fluffy coat and the building heat keep me warm and toasty.

Bonehead sounds like such a remarkable dog who made the most out of life despite challenges. I hope he peacefully makes his way over to the rainbow bridge. My thoughts go out to you, PK.

Second Hand/Vintage Clothing and Tailors Locations in NYC
+ FreshFluff replied to Chad Constantine's topic in The Lounge
For tailoring, Nigel at Tailors Atelier has a really good eye. He was a tailor at Bloomingdales before he started the store. Only thing is that the quality of the seamstresses doing the work varies. Sometimes they fold fabric inside instead of cutting it, which leaves the hem looking word. Tons of great reviews but they're quite pricey. https://www.yelp.com/biz/tailors-atelier-new-york-5?start=20 Not sure about secondhand clothes in NYC, but Poshmark online has a great selection. -
The film and, even more so, Drury's novel are unusually pro-homosexual for the era. At the start of the the film, the senator from RI is shown having a one night stand at a hotel, and he and another senator discuss their skirt chasing. The insinuation is that it's unfair that the gay guy who's faithful to his wife is the one getting blackmailed.

Amazon used to stream it but pulled that version.

Recent events made me re-watch this 1960 Otto Preminger film. The plot revolves around the Senate confirmation battle over a nominee for secretary of state nominated named Robert Leffingwell. The story basically revolves around whether it was okay for Leffingwell to perjure himself when asked whether he had once been a member of a communist cell many years before. Ripped from the headlines, as they say. There's a gay subplot: The head of the committee, Senator Brigham Anderson, is a closeted married Mormon senator from Utah who had an affair with another male soldier at the end of WW2. A supporter of nominee Leffingwell tries to blackmail Anderson into voting to confirm. The film contains the first ever depiction of a gay bar in an American film. Full trailer:

I think Gadfly may have realized this, hence the after "hung." See how I put the period before the closing quotation mark? Huh? You proud of the kitten?

I'm glad you got away. If you become friendly with the staff at hotels where you frequently do outcalls, maybe they could tip you off.

I don't like the taste of coffee either. Hearing about caffeine tabs gives me bad flashbacks. I'd take them at 2 AM the day of the exam and find that I was STILL not be able to study but couldn't sleep either.

My guess is that most of the guys on there are renting themselves out as wingmen for other straight men. I guess you could try it. Worst that could happen is that you get banned. Obviously, I'd be wary of any profile that looks too good to be true. The cops may have discovered it first.

I saw this too and was going to post. One profile, that of a young woman, said that she's particularly interested in being a (paid) friend to senior citizens. Men have always paid for sex, but there's something about making lonely people pay for companionship that turns me off. Makes me want to turn the prostitution laws on their head. You can legally pay for companionship only if you have sex during that time. That would be hard to enforce though. ("I swear, Officer, I was going to give you a blow job later!")
