  1. No apology necessary at all... great info! I used to do Europe every year, but have only done one visit in the past 5 or 6 years. My Berlin experience even then was simliar - the bars were sketchy af. I can handle myself, but definitely felt like I needed eyes in the back of my head! Is Escape gone in Prague? I haven't really kept up on the scene there. Escape used to be top notch. And Pinocchio/Temple was always the backup. But last visit about 3 or 4 years ago, it flip flopped so doesn't surprise me if Escape went away. I've never been to Switzerland. Might have to put that on the itinerary next visit. Have fun in Fort Lauderdale! For me, even if the dancers and bar managers don't help me have fun, a good bartender or friend can pick up the slack!
  2. Yeah the internet is doing to clubs what Amazon is doing to retail. If you're a dancer, would you rather post an ad and pick the hours you want to work or sit night after night in a smoky bar you have to pay a house fee to dance in, trying to flirt with guys 3 times your age in hopes you can get a decent cut from all the money the clubs take IF you can get them to do a private dance? For us customers, clubs will always be better than going online, but for the guys working, seems the cream of the crop use technology, leaving the B-team forced to work the clubs. I was a big Johnny's fan and LeBoy was great when they launched. But then Sean started copying the business model of all those clubs that went out of business by jacking up the rates for private dances. I used to spend so much money at Johnny's on alcohol (both for dancers and myself), cover charges, parking, a private dance or two each night... now I'll have a drink or two and tip the dancers a little. I think I've done 2 private dances since the rate structure changed a couple years ago. If I really like a guy there, I'll propose a meeting offsite. But I miss having fun at the club. I usually dropped about $100-200 a night. Now it's maybe $20-40. And I rarely leave glad I went. My trips there have been cut in half at least. I miss Johnny's. It was trashy, but fun. It was interesting to me you think Johnsons leans toward twinks because to me it's the opposite. But that's probably because I'm into them and you're not. That's why it's gotta be tough for the guy running that club to try to please everyone. The handful of younger guys they do have have been in the scene for years and that's kind of a buzz kill when I see them. I always looked forward to seeing new guys after a few months away. Sounds like the internet has been the cause of a downturn in all of the scenes... Fort Lauderdale, Montreal... even Prague which you mentioned. I LOVED Prague when I first went about 10 years ago, but I was hearing from people even then that Prague's best days had already passed. I still have loads of fun in Montreal, but that might be because it's a once a year thing. Florida is easier to travel to. I'm hoping to get back to Prague in the next year or so. Prague and Berlin guys are right up my alley!
  3. Ft Laud clubs are hit or miss, depending on your luck. If you go once or twice a year, it's enjoyable. But otherwise, you'll see a lot of the same guys. Boardwalk is for the beefy guy fans. LeBoy is for guys who like college age. Neither of the two are all that great anymore. Boardwalk always used to have one or two knockouts with a lot of C+'s. But the past year or two whenever I've gone, those A's are few and far between. And LeBoy shifted its business model by tripling its prices to copy all the clubs that went out of business. Gotta love that logic. I still have high hopes for Johnsons. I appreciate they try to have dancers that fits everyone's taste, but by doing so they tend to only have a handful of whatever your type is. And you can see by reading messages on this board how tolerant people are about the club that doesn't cater to them. Twink lovers hate Boardwalk. Muscle lovers hate LeBoy.
  4. Unfortunately no. Many clubs have dancers, but they're not strip clubs with private rooms. Miami and Fort Lauderdale have the monopoly on that scene. Tampa tries it occasionally but they never survive.
  5. Thanks for the heads up George! Sounds just like my type!
  6. You can't see it, but I'm giving a standing ovation.
  7. Seems to be a no-brainer. I don't know smokers who are so passionate about only smoking in a barstool. It's not like Ft Laud is in the extreme cold north where smokers are shivering outside.
  8. Wow! Now if they would listen to the rest of our suggestions.
  9. I popped in around 7 yesterday and there were dancers on stage. Not sure what time they started though. By 9 they had 2 or 3 dancers on stage at a time.
  10. Cautiously optimistic about the place. Got to visit last night. Place was pretty busy. Some great looking guys mixed in with lots of meh. A lot of former dancers from the other clubs. New club but the faces won't necessarily be new to you. Drink prices are fantastic. $10 cover. $10 wristbands. $20 per song. That's pretty much the price point I am ok with. But I get the feeling this is the introductory pricing. About 15-20 dancers. They're going for a mix of types... so whether you like the gym rats or twinks, you won't be ecstatic, but appeased. Based on reading these boards, most tend to like clubs to choose a lane and go with it. Problem with that is you alienate. But by trying to be all things to all people, it means you're probably only going to be interested in 1/3 of the dancers at best. Location is very cool - right in the heart of the Wilton Manors club scene. Kind of cool to be able to bounce for a while. Walk around and go back. And I think one of the biggest selling points for people who've posted here... NO SMOKING inside. They have a back patio. Sure people will walk by you reeking of cigarettes, but at least you don't get smoke in your face. If dancers come on board, this place will do major damage to LB and BW. But that's a big if. Right now it seems like they're mostly getting the castaways from the other clubs.
  11. $10/bracelet and $20/song is fair. Hope they don't Sean it up.
  12. College night. LOL Val's reason to NOT go. My reason to check Priceline for a cheap flight.
  13. Sad to hear. Bliss was fun the one or two times I got to go. But yeah both times it was mostly empty. Glad to hear BJ's is doing well. It's got a fun wild vibe that Bliss didn't. They still have private dances?
  14. Good to know thanks man! What ever happened to the building that was in that area... I think it was called Bliss? I liked it the one time I got to go but it was nearly empty. But damn, the dancers (and dancers) were gorgeous.
  15. I haven't been to Atlanta in a about 3 years, but had fun the last few times I went - especially at BJ Roosters. I know Swinging Richards is a favorite on here, but Swinging Richards guys are over the top muscular for me. I like leaner. Roosters had a cool wild vibe that I kind of dug and prices weren't as steep as SR. Nudity isn't a big requirement for me. I just like private dances with curtains, dancers in that 18-25 range. Is ATL worth a visit? Are there new spots since I've been there?
  16. Sooooo ready to give my business to anyplace that's not BW or LB! Best of luck to this place!

    Prague

Hope to hear your stories. I miss Prague visits. There used to be so much online activity of visitors posting their stories, but seems like it's a trickle now. Don't know if fewer are making the trip anymore or no one wants to post. The lack of stories tends to let Prague fall off my radar when I plan trips. And the clubs there have never really done well with online marketing.
  18. Agree zzed. LeBoy is a prettier club but nights at Johnny's were wild, crazy, unpredictable and fun. There's no need to have a stooge with a cash register. There's no need to pretend to be an art museum... yeah that art is worth $500 lol. If you want to charge a cover, charge a cover. But I'm not going to pay escort rates for a 15 minute dance. LeBoy had promise when it first opened, but as soon as they started trying to become clones of all those clubs that failed, my visits became less frequent. I would sometimes spend hundreds a night. Now I spend around $20-30. I pregame elsewhere and sober up at LB and just tip the dancers. The management's arrogance and greed has ruined what used to be my favorite spot. With the price structure they use now, they are just taking money away from the dancers... who are the reason we go in the first place.
  19. You should charge a fee to read your posts. Another great one.
  20. Thanks for the update... still pondering a trip up myself. How was Taboo the rest of the weekend? I rarely do private dances there because they're not actually private. That was always the one big plus with Lux. Their private rooms upstairs offer plenty of seclusion. But yeah I remember the place was really unorganized in terms of how things were run.
  21. Ha your visions are realized there! Walking around the city, you get whiplash. Not all the guys at the clubs will do the same... but there are usually a few. It really is something you have to do at least once - even though it's prime has passed. Plus it's a storybook city with a castle on the hill, lots of beautiful architecture, etc.
  22. Prague is rarely discussed on here. The economy and flight price increases are probably a big factor. In fact, I'm typing this from the States. Just relaying my drinking buddy's experiences from our Skype talks. There used to be a message board for the European hot spots, but seems that was scrapped when some apartment owners bought the domain. I started going to Prague long after the city's "prime." I always read stories of Prague in the 90s and early 2000s, but I was still in my 20s then and didn't require a wallet to have as much fun as I do now. heh heh I think my first trip was about 5 years ago. I've gone back twice since, most recently was last year at this time with said drinking bud. Sounds like little has changed since last year at this time. The former powerhouse of the scene back when I first went was a club designed and marketed primarily to tourists... "Escape." The prices for drinks there are about 3x what you'd pay in a normal Czech bar. There's a $10 cover... which isn't terribly pricy, but in a city like Prague where everything is cheap, it does make the club stick out as high end. And the performers' rates are almost double what they are at other spots. But Escape always had the 9s and 10s... and lots of them usually. Last year, there were 1 or 2 9's with lots and lots of 6's. My bud and I were astonished and figured maybe it was just bad timing. Apparently not. those 1 or 2 9's have found other lines of work. Escape seems to be on its death bed. It's too bad... it really was my favorite place to go anywhere in the world - so much more enjoyable than anything in Montreal or Ft. Lauderdale. The unlikely better alternative is the club once known as Pinnochio. Renamed Temple about 2 or 3 years ago (maybe longer), it's alwasy been the "other" place to go... the place the locals go... it had cheaper drinks, but usually the talent was rough around the edges to say the least. Last year when I went, Temple saved the trip since Escape was a dud. And this year for my friend, it was no different. He found a dark-haired Justin Bieber lookalike (on Justin's 18th birthday no less) on his first night. He tells me the guy was pretty much straight (far more common there) but a lot of fun. He sent me a picture... wow. A true knockout. My total type - works out but not too much. Last night he brought back to his hotel another Temple find, a friendly blond (gay this time) who was more of the whole boyfriend experience. There was a guy named Honza who was there again this year who we met last year. This guy was stunning. I did the one hour "massage room" option. (They have a hotel upstairs.) I'm suprised he was still working. Seems like the super-model gorgeous types move on fairly quickly. This guy was super hot - tall, thin/toned, a soccer player... kind of like Rod Stewart's hair (waaaaaay back when Rod was the stuff! That was before my time!). Anyway, Temple really seems to have eclipsed Escape. It's like McDonald's beating out The Cheesecake Factory. Both nights so far on his trip, he says he's spotted 5 or 6 really smokin' hot guys. Keep in mind we prefer college to mid 20s guys... if you like 'em big and beefy, our opinions will differ. I don't know if I'll be visiting again anytime soon. The $900 flight, pricy hotels, lousy dollar exchange rate... it's just easier to have fun here in the US and Canada. But if you've never done it, it's a much more "complete" experience versus talking to dancers at a bar and then counting songs and dodging backroom monitors.
