I never met him, but found him unreliable. Flaked on a meeting that had been arranged a couple of weeks in advance then confirmed the day before, with only an hour's notice. In fact I only found out that he wasn't going to show up when I messaged him for an ETA only to be told he was on his way to another client who'd asked for a longer appointment. Be sure to have a Plan B.

It's a couple of months since I last saw him but yes, he was still looking that good then.

I generally agree with your points however I think the comparison with the 911 memorial is a false equivalence- and a very emotive one. You can't fairly compare a memorial to an event in living memory to objects of antiquity.

I've looked back through this thread and there's nobody talking trash. I have described my experience with him and I've been clear about positive aspects of that experience. That's hardly talking trash.

Welcome to a chat forum. This is how this works, we chat. People are able to use their judgement as to how much notice to take of a particular forum member. Like anywhere, it takes time to build up a reputation. Plus, if you look around some other threads here you'll be able to see a lot of discussion about how flawed the RM review system is.

Your argument for how good a guy he is seems to be that he'll get a round in when you're out for a drink. That's a very low baseline ...

I'd say Colin Firth is a better call. His pictures are pretty accurate.

And one of those reviews is mine. I've always said that he's good at what he does (although far from being the best in London IMO). I liked his blunt/business-like approach which is why I persevered to meet him initially, thinking that a similar ethic would continue. I'm happy for you that you get on so well and work well with him as a regular. My experience is that he's unreliable about replying to messages and cancelled a meeting that had been arranged well in advance (with deposit paid) at the very last moment without explanation. To be fair to him, he instantly refunded the money. I had a great time with him, which is why I left a 5star review and would be happy to see him again if he were more reliable. Your experience is obviously different.

That's true of any message board, though. By and large, trolls get bored and toddle away if they're ignored. Personally, I really value the input of the providers who post here and I think Mr Cross sounds like he has interesting things to say. Plus, there's always the possibility of his finding work here. I've met a couple of providers through this site, one of whom is likely to become a firm favourite.
