Ty. Can these folks emulate a legit number with caller ID?

I received several calls from some who claimed to be marshals and started citing a badge number. I looked up a number, and it appears they had a website and all. Has anyone else received similar calls?

Thank you for spelling this out. I find it deeply disappointing that members of our own LGBTQ+ community can hold such mindsets—whether out of unexamined bias or, worse, a blatant disregard for those who may be different. This kind of behavior is exactly what we’ve been fighting against for years as LGBTQ+ people. Now, it’s our trans and gender-fluid communities who are squarely in the crosshairs, bearing a disproportionate share of the burden. I truly don’t understand why we direct this kind of harm toward people who aren’t white, Anglo-Saxon, or who don't fit within the narrowest definitions of identity. Just imagine the world we could build if we chose solidarity over division—if we celebrated difference rather than using it as an excuse to marginalize.

I'm not sure if this is in the right place. Feel free to move it. Are there any MUST DO things in NYC for Pride weekend? Of course, the parade. But what other hidden events or odd doings happen that the average folks in our community living outside the city might not know about?

I don't let them scan my ID/DL either. I recall when, in Las Vegas, the local news reported how paper documents, medical history, and personal information like SSN and DL were flying all over the streets from a doc who was closing up shop. With all this stuff digitized, who knows what entities will have it from the doctor, medical healthsystems, third party billing and claims people, insurance carriers, and god knows who else... all at risk from hostile entities.

I've been in the food service industry for a long time, and I usually enjoy the messy, unstructured exploration of a city. However, about three years ago, while visiting Providence—home to Johnson & Wales (my alma mater)—I took a food tour and had an incredible experience. It introduced me to amazing spots that weren’t even on my radar.
