What kind of pre-meeting things do you want to discuss with your provider?

Im sorry to hear your mother passed. I would say if you are keen to meet this provider - sending a polite cancelation fee would go a long way to both them believing you and making time for you again. It's both polite and good manners, but as some people have pointed out - not owed.

I live in NYC and if its 30 min on the subway I don't pay for uber. if it is further than that I think it is good courtesy. Most services do charge a delivery fee. Esp if they are traveling at night.
