I think the hookup apps have killed a lot of the action in spas, plus also I think most of the younger guys are just shyer in general/unsure what to do. I have to think out of 300 million people, there are some willing to sleep with anyone for the prospect of a career worth millions of dollars. Yeah sometimes I've debated whether I should say that. I tend to "read" as straight* so I get asked that sometimes, and it seems like they're hoping I am. *FTR I do not consider that some sort of positive, I'm just a stocky Irish guy who looks like a beer-swilling couch potato - my hag called me "a gay man trapped in a straight man's body." I also think there are a lot of straight guys who find the male body sort of aesthetically pleasing but not sexually, if that makes sense. I think both sides of this are, at least in part, a result of American society kind of frowning upon male-male signs of affection in general. A lot of people are essentially touch-deprived and this fills that need. How many guys do you know who only shake hands with their own fathers? I think contact sports actually fill this need for a lot of guys, but once that phase of life is over they start needing something. I found when I played rugby that my libido plummeted - like the contact from that was meeting my physical needs.

Are you aware that "court of law" proof varies in criminal versus civil cases? In criminal cases you need to prove something "beyond a reasonable doubt" and the presumption is of innocence. In a civil case, there is NO presumption and the standard is "preponderance of the evidence." If you bring a slander/libel claim about something, you have to be able to prove that it was false, AND that the other person knew it to be false. Since the nature of this allegation is that you can't prove it either way, a slander/libel case is unwinnable.

Based on Spacey's reply there's not really much likelihood that it didn't happen. The standards for thinking he did it are not the same as the standards for criminal conviction in a court of law. Nothing will be "proven" to that standard. What evidence is there of something like that? All we know is Rapp did apparently tell the story to several other people over the years, all of whom have confirmed that he told them this. Is it POSSIBLE he made the whole thing up? Well, yes, it's POSSIBLE. Is it likely? Hell to the no.

Perving on children is not typically a one-off. Sorry, it's not something to keep private. There's really no ambiguity in what Spacey did.

Also, he's a pitcher, and there are tradeoffs between muscle mass and flexibility/range of motion for most people. Wouldn't do him much good to add 30 lbs to his bench press if it took 10mph off his fastball because he couldn't move his arm back as far in the windup.

Baseball is much more about eye-hand coordination than musculature. I mean, a lot of the players do work out these days but there are still some downright chubby professional ballplayers.

Anthony Rapp has a successful career. What does he possibly have to gain from this? And since the allegation is occurring at the time he says it, not at the time of the events in question, he IS exposed to a suit for slander by saying this. Kevin Spacey can't be touched for what he allegedly did at this point. If he were some underemployed 40something coming out of the woodwork, yeah one might question the motives. And did you look at the fucking pictures of Rapp from back then? He was 14, but he looked like he was 10 years old. I imagine he's coming out now in hopes of preventing Spacey from doing it again.
