Starbuck got a reaction from + cougar in Have you ever avoided seeing a movie in a theater due to its length?
The longest movie I ever saw in the theater was "Titanic". If the movie is more than 2 1/2 hours I'd rather wait to see it at home. I cannot sit still that long.

It’s running time is 2h 17m, hardly qualifies as a long movie for this topic.

1 1/2 hours is too short
2 hours is good.
2 1/2, if the movie is amazing.
3 hours?…yeah, no.
Same with novels. I’m more of a "short story" kind of guy.

Starbuck reacted to BSR in Real or artificial Xmas trees?
Nothing beats the scent of a real tree. It almost makes me miss cold snowy winters in New England. Almost. One can buy real trees here in Las Vegas, but it just seems so out of place in the desert with all the palm trees.

Starbuck reacted to BSR in First ATP player to come out
Many women tennis pros have come out: from Billie Jean King and Martina Navratilova back in the '80s to Amelie Mauresmo to most recently Kasatkina, to the point that coming out is almost a non-story on the WTA side. But no ATP player has come out, until now.
Apparently Fabien Reboul and his boyfriend Maxence Broville both posted the picture on the left on their Instagrams. Although you can't see their faces (horny devils), Reboul is on the right. Reboul is also the guy in the swimsuit in the other photo. Since I can't access Instagram, hopefully someone can double-check the posts on both players' accounts.
A number of years back, Sports Illustrated & Tennis Channel commentator Jon Wertheim addressed the issue of why no ATP player has ever come out, noting that the first to do so would likely get a very positive response from his fellow players. Brian Vahaly and Jan-Michael Gambill did come out but only post-retirement. Reboul is the first active player to do so. Ranked #54, Reboul still plays a number of Challengers but plays enough ATP tournaments to be called an ATP player. Broville, ranked #872, is playing Futures (kinda like playing Single A baseball).

Reports today note that Irene Cara has sadly died at the age of 63. No details have been given for the cause of death. Cara was perhaps best known for her roles in the movies Flashdance and Fame. RIP.

Starbuck reacted to Muscle Lover 2 in Juan Bruno (Vancouver, BC) - Is he still active?
I regret not hiring both of those men. Juan was so well reviewed and posted a lot of fun and insightful things. I, too, would love to know how to get hold of them to see if they might be willing to see me.

Good find. Haven't signed on in over five and a half years. I always meant to hire Thor.

Starbuck reacted to RadioRob in Scheduled Maintenance: Tuesday October 25, 2022 12:01 - 9:00 AM ET
As recently announced (in this topic), I will be migrating the site from our current servers which are currently maintained by me over to being hosted by the company that makes the software we use to power the website (Invision Power Board).
In order to prevent a loss of data during the migration, I'll need to turn the website off while the work is in progress.
This means the website will be offline next Tuesday October 25, 2022 starting at 12:01 AM ET until approximately 9:00 AM ET. During this time, you'll see a message saying the site is under maintenance. (It may be back sooner, but I want to give myself extra time just to be safe.)
The website address is still going to be the same, and no data is expected to be lost. You should still be logged into the site once the migration is complete. After everything is complete, you'll automatically see the maintenance message removed. So don't panic on Tuesday morning!
Again, the reason for this migration is to reduce the risk of something happening to the site should something happen to me. I did not want the site to require someone who understood how to run things like Apache, PHP, mySQL, and have to be a tech nerd. By having Invision host the site, they'll manage all of the "under the hood" things. This means the site would be able to continue operating going forward even if I was not around.
(Don't worry... I'm not going anywhere. This is simply one of the tasks I gave to myself to help ensure the site survives should the same thing happen to it that happened when we lost Daddy.)
