This thread has been very enlightening. I have always been quality over quantity, so my circle of friends is relatively small. As I get older, I realize more and more friendships change, and some times we outgrow those friendships. I have also become aware that everyone's definition of what friendship is is different. I'm also an introvert, and I'm increasingly aware that I don't mind, and actually prefer doing things on my own. There is so much to say, but I very much understand those who have contributed to this discussion so far.

I had a very similar experience with him back in 2001! My one appointment with him in 2000 was quite nice. He reached out to me in 2001 saying he'd be in DC. When I responded that I'd be out of town for a wedding, he went off on me.

Did you let him know you were running late? Not sure why he would have stopped your session before the original end time though.

He had DC dates listed a month or so ago, but was non-commital when it came to setting up an appointment. Then the dates were removed both times.

I've seen him several times over the course of 10 years. I haven't seen him since last June. Wonderful massage. In my experience, he has gone over the allotted time. Nice guy. Looks like his photos.

My recent experiences have been cancellations at the last minute. A massage therapist I have seen several times (and reviewed) cancelled on me 3 hours before my scheduled appointment because he suddenly forgot he had made brunch plans. He was running a special. Asked if I could reschedule for later that day (I was not able to). I had made my appointment with him 2 days prior. Didn't offer me the special on a future appointment. I'll take my business elsewhere. Someone else who's no longer taking appointments, contacted me at the scheduled start time of my appointment with him saying he fell asleep by mistake. Asked if I could meet with him 3 hours later. I declined. It happens. I used to be more lenient. Now I really don't give a f*ck. My time is just as valuable as theirs.

I met a guy on A4A in July of 2016. We hit it off immediately (he wasn't living in DC, but was going to be in DC for business). We conversed for a few weeks before his trip, spending many hours on the phone. Finally meeting in person reiterated the connection. We kept in contact when he returned home after his trip, but shortly thereafter that he met someone. I kind of took a step back, but a month or so later, we resumed the frequent communication via texts and phone calls (his initiation, not mine). Several months later, he stopped communicating with me mid text chat. No explanation, no nothing. I'll admit I was very hurt. Over one year later, I question what happened that he ceased communication with me so suddenly. I had texted, called a couple of times, and sent an email, when I realized I was just never going to hear from him again. I miss him.

That option was one of the first thing to go with the changes.
