Time is NEVER running out when they benefit from the promo. They will keep contacting you and telling you the offer ends at the end of the new month - and they will continue doing this for the next twelve months. Since you engaged in a conversation with the 'cute young banker' in person, you've been flagged - they now have you marked as someone who 'is interested' (even though you're not). Stand firm.

Finally finished off Season 6. It was honestly like trying to plod through porridge - horribly slow and dull. It seemed like all of Season 6 was taken straight from The Daily Mail and the NY Post. 'Recent history' of the Royals was totally unnecessary. They should have ended with Season 5.

Last week they promoted the hell out of this movie on 'The View' (though Oprah never made an appearance). They had the cast on one day, talked about it every day. When the cast was on - they all bowed at the throne of Whoopi (and kissed her ass). Host Sara Haines kept parroting what she said one year ago, when they were promoting the hell out of the movie "Till". Said Haines over and over again (both last year and this year): "I keep hearing a lot of Oscar buzz for this movie. Everyone is saying it's going to sweep the Oscars". Last year, she'd then turn to the Almighty Whoopi and repeat, "Lots of Oscar buzz for you," to which Whoopi would grin. Well, not sure who was buzzing in Haines' ear last year - "Till" was nominated for nothing important, Whoopi was ignored - and infuriated. So Haines best be quiet for the next few weeks and refrain from saying, "I'm hearing lots of Oscar buzz for this movie" every time 'The Color Purple' is mentioned. Someone's lying to her and she's jinxing the movie's chances. (BTW, she also did this two years ago with Spielberg's "West Side Story"- she heard 'lots of Oscar buzz' in her ears).

With a 'reward card', they take out a higher fee on the merchant on each sale. It's usually 1 - 2 % more than they take out on a merchant for a regular CC. (I used to own my own retail business from 1987-2012, so I'm familiar with much of this. One of my best friends worked in the CC processing business and explained all this to me). Say you went to a restaurant, and paid a check for $50 with a regular credit card (a non-reward card). The restaurant would lose (on average) 2-3% on the transaction to the bank for the 'cc fee'. If you use a 'rewards card' where you get 2% back on the purchase, the restaurant not only loses the 2-3% standard fee, but now has the 2% reward added to it. So now, 5% is going to the bank from the restaurant - not just 2-3%. On $50 it doesn't sound like much, but at the end of the month, if a restaurant processes 1,000 of these $50 checks - they're losing quite a bit in an industry with a thin margin. And the bank is picking up extra profits, which makes their board members rather happy. This is why businesses have been battling back by charging customers a 'convenience fee' when using credit cards. They simply can't stay in business with the current structure. (I could never charge a credit card 'convenience fee' when I was a merchant - I'd risk losing the 'privilege' of accepting credit cards, according to my bank agreement).

86% of Gen Z and Millennials have 'menu anxiety'

They do not. They just know they are watching a Super Bowl game. Which one it is - they don't really care. (They are too busy betting on their phones). -
'Zoomer' Brielle Asero, who complained about working, is now broke

I think there are plenty of escorts / masseurs which we all deal with today who are of the Zoomer / Millennial generation. I like to know what they're thinking and where their 'headspace' is in 2023 (or should I say, '2024'). I deal with them on a daily basis at my job, and it's easier to relate to them now in my 'playtime'. Whether they post here / lurk here - there's a great possibility. One thing is for certain - we discuss these Zoomers and Millennials every day when discussing our experiences with providers. -
I love marigolds. This time of year in New England, they can't be found. You're lucky you have them in your area.

86% of Gen Z and Millennials have 'menu anxiety'

Not in my area. It's very sad. They also don't understand Roman numerals. Or telling time on an analog clock (that completely stresses them out). Everything I learned by fourth grade (early 1970s) they don't understand in college. -

How do you know none of them post here ? -
It's time to hand out the Emmys now - Bomer deserves 'Best Actor' hands down. The writers deserve Emmys, the costume designer deserves an Emmy, the set designer, etc. One of the best series in a very long time.

86% of Gen Z and Millennials have 'menu anxiety'

I told them. Then I heard them huff and puff and sigh while they were doing it. I checked the envelopes when they were done (and they were done correctly), and I said: "See - you learned something new today. Now you know how to address an envelope or even a package if you're sending something out in the future. The mystery of mail is over." They rolled their eyes. Last night at dinner I was telling a friend of mine (we both turned 60 this year). She reminded me that we learned how to write out an envelope in the fourth grade. The art teacher 'made a mailbox' out of a cardboard box and brought it into each 4th grade room - and we had to address the envelope and put a (fake) stamp on it, and put it in the mailbox to be mailed. It was part of a basic lesson on how the mail works. So sad those days are gone. -
When it rains (great looking providers) it pours

It's annoying when they don't post their travel schedule. They post my city as their 'home' with no indication how long their staying. I don't get why they do this - why not say you're going to be here until 'x' date so men can plan their week ? I remember I contacted one hot provider to see how long he was in my city. He responded "hurry up and see me tonight, because I'm leaving tomorrow morning". I told him I couldn't, so I'd catch him next time we were in the same city. He kept pushing to meet that night. That provider texted me every day for a week - he was still in my area. By the third or fourth day of his text 'wanting to meet me', I explained I had already spent my money on two other providers that week - he lied and said he was leaving earlier than he was, so I booked with others. I ended the texting with "The $600 I spent with the other two could've been in your pocket for a 2 hour appointment if you were honest in the beginning, rather than rush an appointment for the first night". I then blocked him. -

She's "trending" on social media with over 500,000 viewers. That in itself is 'news' - 500K are following her, or as it is said today : "influenced" by her. You're not in the news because you're not trending with 500K followers. But back to Brielle - her followers (other Zoomers) empathized with her, saying they found themselves in the same position. None of her followers (from what was quoted) advised her to 'grow up' ; they just reinforced the fact that there is no life /work balance these days if you have to work 9 - 5 and commute to your job. They've joined her army, and want a better work-life. Again, this is the current work force of 'new grads'. Thoughts & prayers go out to them if this is how they're beginning their adult life. -

This week and upcoming week I've been searching RentMen and RentMasseur for a provider - preferably someone new who may be traveling, or someone locally based who has 'returned home' from traveling. Right now, there's a dearth of good looking sexy providers in my area on both sites. A month or so ago, when I was looking for someone new, there was a plethora of great looking guys (with great reviews) - I could have gone broke hiring who I wanted. I had sooo many choices ! (I found a good one who is new and now resides here). Has anyone else noticed this in their area ? Either there's no one who grabs your attention, or your area is flooded with hunky guys you want to try - all in the same week or weekend ?

86% of Gen Z and Millennials have 'menu anxiety'
Ali Gator replied to Ali Gator's topic in The Lounge
This past week in my office (I work at a University), we had to mail some packets out to welcome new students for the upcoming Spring semester. Unfortunately, our printer was down (it was acting up the past week or so - time for a new one when we return in January), so we had to hand-write the addresses on address labels (including the University address for a return address). We had about 2 dozen to do, so I asked two the student workers (a Junior - 20 years old / a Senior - 21 years old) to help out. Never mind the fact that they can only 'print' since they never learned 'cursive' (and a few years ago, an email went out from the President's Office instructing faculty and staff NOT to write in cursive when hand-writing something down - such as instructions - to a student). These students (Gen Z) DO NOT know how to address an envelope. They stared at the address on the paper I gave them, printed out clearly. They then looked at the white address label where they needed to write the address (then detach it and stick it to the envelope). I had to teach them how the person's name goes on the first line, street address on the second, and city / state / zip on the third line. Then I had to show them how to do the return address on the smaller label to attach to the top left corner. When I asked, they both said they never had to address a piece of mail before. They've received mail, but never paid attention to the front of the envelope where the address is. (The Junior student told me she was getting anxiety trying to figure this out - so could I assign her something else ? ) We're so doomed. -
Giving Christmas gift to providers
Ali Gator replied to BananaBagel's topic in Questions About Hiring
Exactly a year ago, I met with a masseur who was traveling through my area and spending Christmas weekend here. It was my third or fourth time meeting with him since the summer. His family was overseas, so he wasn't able to travel to be with them for Christmas, so he was 'working' the holiday weekend. Turned out on Dec 23, 2022 I was his last appointment at 5 pm. He had nothing to do the rest of the evening, so I suggested I'd take him out to dinner and we would have our own 'Christmas dinner'. Sometimes such 'simple things' mean so much. I was careful to choose a place we'd be comfortable with (he was wearing a track suit, so couldn't go for fine dining) and would fit his food preferences (he's vegetarian). I took him to a nearby locally-owned family restaurant, sat at the bar with him, and had a wonderful dinner and pleasant time with the others at the bar (turned out there was a couple there who was traveling to his home-country in mid-January, so that made for an easy / engaging conversation for him). Being with this handsome guy (with a hot body) and watching how genuinely happy he was 'in this strange land' made my Christmas. It was a memorable evening. When I drove him back to his hotel, he thanked me profusely for such a special evening and making his Christmas 'less lonely'. When he leaned in to kiss me good night, unexpectedly it turned out to be quite a make-out session in my car in the parking lot. He wanted me to go back to his room with him, but I wanted to end the night without going further (we went much further in his other appointments since then). -
Bumping this. Coming to my area. His head and body look disproportionate to me (head is too large for his body). 86% of Gen Z and Millennials have 'menu anxiety'

I blame Starbucks for 'menu anxiety'. How can these fragile millennial minds know how to order off the menu ? -
HBO has faith in this series. Season 3 was announced yesterday. Season 2 was just awful, in every respect.

Variety names "I Love Lucy" as Best Show of all time
Ali Gator replied to Ali Gator's topic in TV and Streaming services
Back then in the 70s, "Roots" was considered a mini-series with eight episodes airing. Today, eight episodes qualify as a 'season' for a series - 'The Gilded Age', 'Julia', 'Fellow Travelers' for starters. I found the list to be too heavy-handed from the 21st Century. There's not enough from the 50s and 60s (Where's BEWITCHED ? First show to deal with 'mixed marriages', prejudices and brought us Paul Lynde and Agnes Moorehead together!) Most importantly, where was "Upstairs / Downstairs" on the list ? Or "I, Claudius" ?
