When I did my Alaska cruisetour back in 2011 (I was traveling with one of my best friends) I did just that and met another cruise guest who was traveling with 2 friends. I was about 40 and he was about 30. All we got in during the cruise was a late night make-out session when he walked me back to my cabin (my friend was asleep inside) but fortunately he lived in Atlanta where I had another good friend and sometimes traveled for work so we got in the real fun during some of those trips. Haven't seen him in years but every once in awhile we still chat. What I can say about Alaska cruises is that they are older crowds like some folks have mentioned and the nights end pretty early compared to other cruises. One night we met we felt like the only guests walking around the ship. Had we gotten creative I think we could have found a private bathroom or another spot around

Outside of this forum, I've only shared details with my two best gay friends - who were the ones who brought the idea of hiring up first with me (separately) as they'd been hiring long before I did and they never had any shame about it (this is ~15-20 years back). Neither hires now, but I sometimes send them a list of my potential 'new friends' to get their opinions. The one friend and I have totally different tastes in men so he always hates my choices but oh well!

I used to buy 2 other magazines like Rolling Stone or Sports Illustrated to put on top and bottom of the gay ones I was buying and hand the stack to the cashier. I guess I hoped they'd keep them in order and no one else would see the surprises in between the 'mainstream' mags! And they used to keep the gay mags right in the front of the shop on upper shelves so you had to stand right by the door on your tiptoes to get to the good stuff. The selection they had (this was in a college town in Delaware in the late 80's / early 90's) was impressive though!

I'm pretty sure it was both. I've worked in banking all my life (not the branch side) but all banks require training on such suspicious or 'out of the ordinary' activities. The latest focus is all about elder/vulnerable adult abuse, along with various scam training. The questions he asked you point to that exactly. He did the right thing for sure as I'm sure it was a huge red flag for him. The horror stories I've heard over the years are so very sad.
