Opera Australia has been very badly hit. The Artistic Director, Lyndon Terracini in a moment of total honesty has described the situation as “shit”. There is a season in Sydney from January with Ernani (a co production with La Scala), Tosca (with an interesting cast), Blue Beard’s Castle and the Merry Widow. Social distancing applies in the Opera House with every second seat vacant which means it certainly won’t be a money making season.
