    wozzeck

This was a co production with Opera Australia, the Salzburg Festival and other companies. I saw it in Sydney mid year with an excellent largely local cast. It made a shattering impact and I could not imagine a better case for the Opera. I might add my opera companion is an artist and she is a great fan of William Kentridge which added a welcome additional edge to the evening. Strongly recommend.
  2. I’m confused.
  3. Judging by his chosen pseudonym modesty is not one of self evident attributes.
  4. With the greatest respect that confirms my worst fears.
  5. I commented a few years ago that I had never seen a bad review on Planet Romeo (that was when Planet Romeo was easy to navigate and user friendly but that’s another story). I wrote a slightly sceptical comment on one occasion and it disappeared within a day. So many so called reviews are mindless odes to the boys beauty, wishing they would visit their city etc. Skepticism in the case in question I believe is well justified. This is slightly off topic but in so many review forums it is clear that some people are artificially promoting someone or the reverse. I saw a doctor some years ago who I was pleased with but I have recently noticed that he has received a number of negative comments on the Rate Your MD site obviously written by the same person with a personal gripe. The Internet is wonderful and has revolutionised dissemination of knowledge but should still be approached with caution.
  6. Reading his Rentmen add I came to the inescapable conclusion that English was not his best subject at school.
  7. He claims he’s straight. Fabulous looking.
  8. A better idea is to send a nice letter sealed with a kiss.

    Spedra

This is a very belated review of Spedra or Stendhal as it is known in the US. It was a total flop. I was talking to my doctor this morning and he has had the same feedback from other patients. Buyer beware.
  10. As much as I enjoyed his singing in Tosca in London mid year it was obvious that he is a Prima Donna from central casting. He milked the adulation at the final curtain for all it was worth.
  11. This marvellous tenor has just been sacked from future performances at the Royal Opera House and the Metropolitan for “aggressive and inappropriate conduct” on a recent ROH tour of Japan. I heard him in Tosca at Covent Garden mid year and thought he was sensational and judging by the audience reaction after his big arias and at the final curtain I was not the only one who thought so. There was a strong “melodramatic “playing to the gallery aspect to his performance but with a voice like his it was totally in order. I was looking forward to his Edgardo in Lucia in London next year but it is not to be. Another one bites the dust.
  12. Find another escort. There are plenty of fish in the sea.
  13. He’s cute enough to make me forgive his tattoo.

    Villa Gianni

A beautiful man disfigured by those hideous tattoos. A tragedy.
  16. That link didn’t work.
  17. Thank you. Good report.
  18. Please report back.
  19. I like too.
  20. 85 Rentmen reviews should put the issue beyond doubt.
  21. Although it’s never happened to me I have read of thefts from lockers at Lagoa in São Paulo. I had an indirect experience. I was in the change room at Lagoa about 10 years ago preparing to leave when a Brazilian guy opened his locker and was running around the change room in a highly agitated state with his pants pointing to the empty pockets. I could not understand what he was saying as I do not speak the language. He then asked everyone the phone number of the police. That I did understand. As I was leaving he was outside on his phone presumably ringing the police. I came to the inescapable conclusion that he had been robbed. To repeat I have read a number of similar stories on websites over the years.
  22. I love the last act of ''Turandot''.
  23. Sounds wonderful.
  24. Bump. The thoughts of Opera lovers appreciated.
  25. The Shard is in a rather dull location . I usually stay at the St Martins Lane Hotel. The location is superb. I might add it’s not hard to spend $600 a night in London.
