IH remains the largest gay B&B in KW and one of the few left on the island that hasn't gone straight/mixed.

It's not as nice or well-designed as Alexander's, but it's got a larger crowd and is a lot more of a party scene. They did a soft refurb on it about six months ago.

The property remains in decent shape. Season is coming up and prices will stay high ($350/night+) at IH through late March.

The perks are all still there (included bar during happy hour, 24-hour cafe, porn on room TVs). With fewer and fewer gay B&Bs operating in KW, this is probably the most 'fun and frisky' one of the few left. Due to the price, you don't see a lot of younger gay guys staying there, but they do come in using a day pass.

I still say that Alexander's is the winner for best service, solace and design.

$350 a night!! Looks like the gay tax is alive and well in Key West.

That's now cheap for KW. Try finding a hotel in-season for less than $400/night. It's almost impossible.

The little island has now become the big machine, thanks a lot to those damned cruise ships. Locals can't afford to be locals anymore.

If the majority of tourists are on cruise ships they aren't booking hotel rooms.

I hate that. They get driven out and KW becomes another place to take a selfie.

Back in the Days of the Conch Republic -- I had my first outdoor orgy by the Pool at the Island House

I'm staying there in January with an escort. I sure hope that happens to me.

I'm thinking about going for 5 days in November... Any good local providers?

Have you been to Key West before? I haven't been in many years, but I'm pretty sure KW is still dead between Fantasy Fest (end of October) and Thanksgiving.

Haven't been there in years....

KW continues to change and shape itself into the tourists who frequent the island most.

It's a large reason why I don't go down as much as I used to. The cruise ship contingent has slowly changed the attitude of KW and specifically, the LGBT community has never felt smaller. It's very sad for me to see.

Yeah, once those str8s catch wind of A GOOD THING, there goes the Gayborhood.

Considering a solo trip at the end of October. It will be my first visit so any additional pointers are appreciated!

Read the latest issue of PASSPORT magazine. There's an excellent article regarding KeyWest. I enjoyed reading it, for I compared some of the content to what I experienced when I ventured there some years back.
