Howdy folks,

I've never been a chick rock guy but I have to hand it to Pink. Her first video in three years was released today on MTV & it's pretty fucking funny and right on it.

She goes after Lindsay, Paris and Jessica in "Stupid Girls"

You can catch it on MTV Overdrive @ http://www.mtv.com

On a Letterman repeat tonight, Imogen Heap(http://www.imogenheap.com) is performing. She'll also be the musical guest on Carson Daly tomorrow & Wed.

My partner calls her CD, "Speak For Yourself," best pop album for '05.

As I've said many times here, I love Connie Francis!, and imo, it is the biggest travesty of justice, that she is not in the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame!

WTF! all the prepubscent boys of my generation, were in LOVE!! with Connie, with only Annette Funicello even remotely close in 2nd place. To this day, I often feel that is why my brother, who was GAGA! over Connie married a NYC Italian girl.

You're always so timely, as I was just listening to my Connie Francis Greatest Hits cd earlier tonight.

So just where are the boys when she sings in Italian? :)

I grew up listening to Connie Francis.

My Mom's favorite record was "Sing Along With Connie Francis". (It was some prize from a Bryl-creme contest, I think.)

Mom would put that record on, and play it over and over, every Saturday when she'd be cleaning the house and sing at the top of her lungs. That's probably why I hate cleaning house to this day. ;-)

(Not because of Connie -- my Mom couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.)

Wow, that's great casting. Maybe the film will get her that Hall of Fame induction after all, Hawk. :)

>OK song but I think TLC did it and said it best with their

>song and video Unpretty.

Well they both have similar themes but totally different messages. Unpretty was all about female empowerment within themselves and this one is just making fun of what idiots girls (and gay men) can be as a result of social pressure.

I mean .... Chili pushing a tray of implants in some doctors face after watching some girl SCREAM getting her infected ones removed VS. Pink tiny puppy shopping followed by a orange spray tan attack ....

Totally different sand in those playgrounds :)

John, the best part of the video is the ending, when the little girl chooses the football over the Barbies. We rarely see positive images like that (kids making choices based on actual personal preference rather than societal gender expectation). Very cool. I like that Pink.
