A Quiet Place

Just saw this yesterday and thought it was well crafted, directed and acted (the children were amazingly good). Lots of jumps. A nice, tense little horror flick that’s not slasher vs teen or torture porn.

Also saw this yesterday and I agree the kids did a fantastic job. But, I consider this one of the strangest movies I've seen. There were a couple of things in the story line that just didn't make sense.

There were a couple of things in the story line that just didn't make sense.

 

Like where on earth did they find a seemingly unending supply of white beach sand in upstate NY? The major complaint I heard was that people were upset that there really wasn’t any character development. I actually thought that was a good move on the writer’s part. They just plopped you in the middle of a random family’s life during this this crisis (which was never fully explained.....just hinted at).

I kind of liken it to Hitchcock's "The Birds". You don't know why any of it is happening. You're just plopped into it with little to no explanation. However, "The Birds" is a far superior film to "A Quiet Place."
