Walked past the nearby Catholic Church Xmas Day and saw this picture in the bulletin board.

 

Wow! I wonder if I would have spent more time in church as a kid if I had seen such a handsome picture! Usually the pictures of him had him looking dour, almost like his teeth hurt.

I always enjoyed seeing SUPERSTAR. Got more out of weekly church

for quite some time.

I'm sorry you didn't run into this picture of Jesus when you were young. It was out there. I remember seeing it when I was in my twenties. We used to call it, The Laughing Jesus, and, yes, I think it did help me to come into a closer relationship with Him. Remember, this was the guy who got rebuked for partying on the sabbath, and whose first miracle was making primo wine.

What you said about the Jesus picture hits home. Did you hear about the American Family Association attacking NBC because of their new show called the Book of Daniel?

 

Those Mississippi queens are upset because the Jesus "a very unconventional white-robed, bearded Jesus."

 

Please define UNCONVENTIONAL. My dictionary says, "Not adhering to convention; out of the ordinary."

 

Thus, it seems to me like the AFA is "out of the ordinary".
