I had never known of Pi Day or the celebration of it. My math skills would limit my celebrating to the consuming of fruit pies.

My math teacher in high school made us well aware of Pi Day. It lead to us students to yell “Pi” at 3:14 (each quarter) at basketball games. Super nerdy!

This is how I plan on celebrating... I would have all to do to figure out what percentage of a pie this is much less what Pi is...

Late 1967, the original Star Trek episode "Wolf in the Fold" involved Spock confounding the malfunctioning Enterprise computer by instructing it to "compute, to the last digit, the value of pi". I had not had geometry yet and had no idea what pi was, I thought Spock was telling the computer to calculate the value of pie.

We had Pi day at work. People brought pies for a contest. I was a judge. Then we all ate pie for the rest of the afternoon.
