Oops, I didn't include my favorites.

I like to read one book at a time, so I don't have a huge list, but right now I'm reading "The Unexpurgated Beaton: The Cecil Beaton Diaries as He Wrote Them, 1970-1980." He's such a curmudgeon.

My favorite cds of the year, in no particular order:

Kate Bush's "Aerial" -This is what HoustonB was referring to as "King of the Mountain"

Modest Mouse - "Good News for People Who Love Bad News"

Bloc Party - "Silent Alarm"

The Dresden Dolls - Can't remember :-(

Sleater Kinney's newest

Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine

"I can't believe any self-respecting gay man would read a book by Ed Meese. I hope you didn't pay for it."

The book is a library loan. I seldom buy anything at Barnes and Nobles except coffee and cake. I make a wish list at the bookstore and borrow at the library. (A true liberal)

Currently, I'm on an eighties non - fiction kick so probably I'll read a few more free tomes from the enemy camp.

Hey, Bobby, why not start a separate thread devoted to CD's? That way the readers could discuss books and the listeners could discuss music? Or should we talk about audio books?:)

Re: audiotapes. Years ago I borrowed an audiotape from the library and a few tapes were defective. I never borrowed any again. I’m a fast reader and my recollection is that by comparison the tapes seemed slow. A friend swears by tapes, claiming he accomplishes mucho work while listening. But he uses abridged, and I’m an unabridged person.

Re: cds Xmas is just not Xmas unless one is listening to Kate Smith, Bing Crosby and Spike Jones" seasonal albums . Tylenol, PLEEZ! :)

I used to listen to right wing talk radio to keep me awake (and angry) during drives. Now I do audio books. Still keep awayke, stay a lot happier.

Hey Bobby;

Thanks for clearing up my mistake. Good to hear from you as it seems to have been a long time. Hope you are doing well and I wish you a blessed and happy holiday.

Sincerely,

...because this thread turned into media discussion on the first page. I'm happy to be a hall monitor but I want a laminate.

Oh, I forgot Gabby LaLa's cd.

Hey grumpy why don't you allow the thread to go in the direction people take it? You have no problems pulling someone elses thread off course.
