Apologies if this has already been asked before (nothing came up in search), but how does one become an "extras" masseur? Also not sure if this belongs in "Ask an Escort" or "The Spa". I would assume that many of the masseurs discussed here are not licensed, but please correct me if I am wrong.

  • How do these places go about finding masseurs? What kind of experience would they look for?
  • Did the most favorited masseurs here graduate from Massage Therapy school?
  • How much can an "extras" masseur expect to earn in a year? (working in spa vs private)

f you have answers but don't feel comfortable replying here then please PM me, thanks

Asking for...uh you know, science ;)

Ohhh… one of those questions that could take pages to answer. So here’s a start.

I suspect your assumption that most masseurs discussed in these forums are not licensed is probably correct. However that does not mean those unlicensed are not competent at massage.

Not sure what you’re asking by “How do these places go about finding masseurs?”

If you’re asking about professional hotel and resort spas they likely have a pile of resumes they go through submitted by licensed massage therapists. These legitimate venues would be state licensed and would only hire certified therapists. Most large cites have one, or more, massage therapy schools with graduates looking for jobs. My impression is that supply exceeds demand. So experience will play an important factor in getting hired.

Here are a couple of previous threads to look at:

(And yes - it’s a bitch to try to do a search - pet peeve that you can’t put a limit on start and end dates for a search).

I think “how do you hire a masseur is more in line with the Super Men’s Spa places. I mean think about it. You’re looking for cute youngish men to provide a massage and they need to know the expectation is a HE. There are some interesting logistics in play here.

Looking for masseur for male massage.

Guy shows up ugly - no thanks?

Guy shows up and says “oh I’ve massaged at hotel spas” - oh hey, do you like to give handjobs?
