  1. Massagebook is a software platform that handles a lot for the therapist. Intake forms, notes, scheduling, marketing, email/text reminders, websites and payments/invoices. I've used them for a while and would use their online intake forms which some people don't want to fill out. Some clients liked it, because they can look at my calendar and see my availability and schedule their appointment.

  3. the longest I've done was 3.5 hours. I was working on a classmate from massage school. Wasn't looking at the clock just massaged and flowed. It felt a lot shorter since there was good energy between us.
  4. Hmmm, I've always accepted credit cards. My first client paid with one. And it was another client that introduced me to Venmo. And since him, I've had others pay via Venmo. But it's still mostly cash.
  5. I've met a couple of guys off massage exchange. They were good trades/massages. I never paid a fee. I was contacted by people who had the higher tier of membership, so I could communicate with them for free. I'd be more inclined to pay if there were more profiles with photos, a majority do not have a profile pic.
  6. I've only been paid later from a regular client. She's a college student so it was understandable for her not to have the funds immediately, but she was in pain. She would Venmo me the money later.
  7. Getting I prefer longer 90 or 120 minutes. Giving a massage, 60 minutes seems so short. To do full body you have to rush through some parts or to do deep, focused work, you have to skip some. People always complain about back or neck pain, so things like hands and feet have to get skipped for time. So I like giving 90 minutes minimum to be thorough.

  9. Had my first visit to Johnson's last night. I liked the space. And a good mix of dancers. Some muscle guys, althetic and some twinks. Usually go to boardwalk whenever I'm in town but probably won't this trip since I hear from people it has gone down hill.
  10. I usually have Sirius XM Spa channel playing (no commercials I have a lifetime subscription) One regular hates it so I just have a bluetooth speaker ready for him and he plays his Spotify. It works out well since he usually receives work calls so it stops the music automatically and I can just keep io massaging.
  11. I have a few clients that like 30 minute sessions. Usually it's a time constraint on their part. Time they have between meetings or on their lunch break. It's just focused on one area, usually just legs or back and glutes.

  13. Yes, it's my biggest pet peeve when watching these videos. Also when they don't use a face cradle. Just looks so uncomfortable on the neck with the head just on the table.
  14. As a therapist, I never expect a tip, so it's appreciated when I get one. As a client, I usually tip even if the service wasn't great. I always feel like it's expected.
  15. Massage puts one in a relaxed state, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. So hearing stomach noises and farting is normal. Some don't realize they do it. So I just ignore it. The parasympathetic nervous system is one of three divisions of the autonomic nervous system. Sometimes called the rest and digest system, the parasympathetic system conserves energy as it slows the heart rate, increases intestinal and gland activity, and relaxes sphincter muscles in the gastrointestinal tract.

Yeah to me undraped never meant sensual. It was just client comfort/preference. And it allows for long strokes like from the hamstring, glute, to low back to shoulders. It's a nice complete feeling. Just note some licenses/state massage board rules state that genetalia must be covered. So at minimum a wash cloth.
  17. I always assumed that feeling a cold drop fall on you would be disturbing and ruin the relaxation. Depending on the client, if I'm doing deep work, I tend to perspire. I have a towel handy to wipe my brow. If it's really bad, I'll wear a headband
  18. I think the word "massage" isn't liked. I've seen profiles where it is misspelled and it's fine or another word is fine. I've seen profiles with mutual rub or rubdown trade. I had a hard time keeping my Instagram link in my profile. It kept on getting deleted cause my Instagram name has "massage" in it.
  19. Hmm I've had my Grindr account disabled just for saying I was a Licensed Massage Therapist. They said listing an occupation was soliciting/offering goods and services. On doublelist I posted an ad offering a free massage. That got flagged.
  20. Yeah I would expect your masseur to inform you of any rate changes. Most of my regulars just text to set up appointments. I just have two that use online booking. So I don't expect most to be aware of any rate changes. I haven't raised my rates yet, I think when I do I'd keep them the same for regulars.
  21. Yes, upload a picture for your avatar and be helpful on this forum and respond to PMs. There are good guys on this forum and they are good clients.
  22. People usually ask me for an exchange since I have "massage therapist" in my profiles. One guy found me on massageexchange.com Other places were scruff, Grindr, and A4A
  23. When I trade with other therapists, I always learn something new. Even trading with a non-professional has taught me a lot. I've learned more from a guy who just has gotten a lot of massages in his life than some pros.
  24. Well users can request a male therapist. And I just see the first names of the people requesting. Still my regular would post there requesting male therapists and female therapists would still respond.
  25. You could try a site like Thumbtack. You can set your request and professionals pay Thumbtack to send you a bid. I've only had one client from there, but he's been a regular for years.
