Many of the traditional adult sites are looking less and less interesting. They tend to carry most of the same feeds orpurchase like content. The cam sites like http://collegeboyslive.com or http://boyscondo.com have not been offering much lately and this is coming from a huge fan of cam house sites.

 

I happened to find the Stock Bar site and that led me to their pay site http://www.nudemaledancers.com Anybody here subscribe?

If so do you feel it's worh the $30. x month?

Thirty bucks a month sounds kinda steep, especially if you subscribe to several of the available sites.

 

I have often wondered if they would not make much more money if they only charged $10. At this price, perhaps many more people would be enticed to join. It might be 1/3 the price but if their membership jumped 10 fold, think of all that extra profit!

I love the love the Stock bar feed; I've been a subscriber for over a year.

 

The shows generally consist of one to five minute solo dances in succession by whichever dancers have shown up for the evening. Since the dancers follow their own unpredictable schedules, you can never tell who might be dancing on any given night.

 

There is a shower on one corner of the stage, so you occasionally get to see a dancer take a quick shower right on stage.

 

The shows are usually very simple with just one guy dancing on stage--sometimes dressed, sometimes nude--to music of their own choosing. There is never any sex on stage and only very rarely will you see a duo.

 

There are often breaks in the routine when the camera operator ("Camboy") will pan the camera over the crowd or over the inside of the DJ booth, and these breaks are just as interesting for me as the videos of the dancers.

 

The feed is live only when the bar is open, usually 6pm to 2am, otherwise recordings (VHS tapes, I think) of previous nights are shown.

 

In addition to getting to watch cute guys dance around in their underwear, you also get to participate in the show by joining a live chat session where you can talk with the DJ and other visitors and sometimes talk to the dancers themselves.

 

I think this site will not appeal to everyone, but after a year of watching the live shows and getting to know the dancers, the staff, and the other customers through the video and chat room, I now feel like a part of the Stock bar family.

I subscribed to Nude Male Dancers for one month and liked to show. Trouble was the site was plagued with tech problems. The screen was very small and it would frequently freeze up for hours. They may have solved that problem by now. I didn't feel it was worth $30.00 a month.

They charge what the market will bear. <shrug>

 

These sites make their money from recurring charges, at whatever level they charge. Particularly from people who sign up and are never heard from again. It's a lot more common than you might think.

 

One webmaster told me they accidentally dumped all their passwords once and gladly set new passwords for any member that wrote in. A year later, when they closed the site, fewer than a quarter of their membership had written to request passwords yet they were getting charged the membership fee every month.

 

Some guys just don't look at their credit card statements, I guess. Or they have money to burn.

 

For me, NONE of the porn sites hold my interest long enough to justify any kind of recurring membership. I'll occasionally buy a "trial week" at one of the sites that doesn't renew, enjoy it, and then I'm over it.

The actual video feed is at 320x240 (w,h), but the video window which occupies the right side of the webpage can be shown at either of two sizes: 200x150 or 400x300 pixels.

 

Although you won't get any more pixels, what you do get can be expanded to fill the screen completely at any time by just by double clicking on the video.

 

Just don't try maximizing the video on a 50" monitor or you won't be able to see the forest (bush?) for the pixels.

Yes Deej - I understand that, but I'm still curious if mt theory of chargeing less to get a far greater customer base wouldn't be more profitable. They could still keep their recurring charge policy, and they would have so many more people to stick it to!

Gosh, I'm sure those successful business people are far too air-headed to have thought through their business plan, or possibly even have tried your ideas.

I am currently test driving Badpuppy.com for a month but have to say I don't see the value of signing up for a long term commitment. Just how easy is it to cancel a long term recurring charge agreement on these sites? One bad experience with a non porn site was bad enough for me not not want to repeat the experience.

 

Also,from what I have seen the content is rather repetative. One frathouse cam is just about the same as any other IMO.

It varies.

 

The big sites like Bedfellow and Badpuppy are pretty good about it. Cancel your membership and your login will stop working (and you'll stop getting charged) on the next billing date.

 

The "smaller" sites can be a little more difficult. I cancelled a credit card to get rid of one of them (from a name you wouldn't expect).

 

I'm pretty much permanently put off on "recurring" memberships until someone provides provably recurring content of interest, which hasn't happened to date.

I bought a one-week subscription to Nude Male Dancers and watched it for the entire week. I enjoyed it, but got my fill. I got a one-month subscription to Bad Puppy and renewed it once. It was easy enough to cancel the subscriptions. I haven't gotten a new statement from the credit card I used with Nude Male Dancers, but I think the billing company they use (Verotel) is legitimate.

 

I too tend to shy away from recurring memberships.

I forgot to mention that when I purchased my Nude Male Dancers account, I used a service by my credit card company that allows me to generate random MasterCard account numbers that have a fixed charge limit and an expiration date of my own choosing.

 

The service lets you avoid using your real account number when dealing with potentially unreliable sellers or when there is a higher than normal risk of your account information being intercepted (say if you're giving the information over the phone or over an unencrypted connection).

 

With the Nude Male Dancers site in particular, I generate a new number every three months and use it to re-establish my account. Once the old numbers expire or they reach the preset spending limit they are cancelled and additional charges are automatically refused.
