It's being reported that a man living in the UK is now free from AIDS without any treatments. He was diagnosed in 2002 and in 2003 four blood tests did not show any HIV antibodies in his system.

 

Is this too good to be true? If it's true then why wait 2 years to make the findings public?

That was my first reaction too (false positive). I mean, it's WONDERFUL if this is true, but I'm skeptical. Usually they test multiple times to make sure it's not a false positive, so maybe...

They didn't say whether the antibody test was confirmed with a viral test (i.e. a viral load). If it wasn't confirmed, the story's a joke. False positive antibody tests are very common (especially ELISA).
