I have local NFL team season tickets. Recent years, rarely go, sell my tix online.

I've been decluttering home, donating tons of clothes to charity, but selling a few nice items, new with tags, online.

From time to time, I still try to meet guys online... mostly platonic, but, well,occassionally.....

I'd say 90% or more of positive indications online, result in nothing. I dont mean just interest, but "yes I'll buy it" on Craigslist, OfferUp or Letgo apps. Or "yes, I'll meet" on Craigs, or Grindr, Growlr, Scruff etc.

I just had a guy say he wants my football tickets. Spoke on the phone, he's driving over. "Please dont sell them to someone else," he implored. Texted a few minutes later to cancel. And I thought to myself "this is probably what it's like to be an escort."

Not complaining about the times, or the unreliability of online transactions. Just sharing a sort-of A-HAH Moment. I wonder what the follow-through rate is for rentguys?

Definitely have had my fair share of cancellations in the past. I understand life happens, and seeing how a large percentage of my clients are straight and married I understand that sometimes things come up and it isn’t always going to work out. I appreciate as much notice as possible. If you’re a new client of mine and let me know something came up I’m always very understanding. Now let’s say that same client cancels 2 times in a row, I will add a cancellation fee to the next appointment. At that point I know if they’re serious or not, if they are they will be understanding and have no problem with that. If they’re not they obviously won’t contact me again.

Now let’s say I have a no call no show from a new client. I feel that is disrespectful of my time. I made sure i was groomed and ready for the appointment and my Incall location is prepared. The lack of respect shown when being flaked on like that I will have no interest in working with that client in the future. If you can’t respect even my time, how are you going to respect me during the appointment? I know that the appointment is about the client and meeting their needs but there are definitely some things that can happen that will cross a line with the escort (I.E. Stealthing) I respect myself enough not to exchange energies with people who cannot show common respect.

As far as my regulars go. They always follow through. I’ve had a few instances where there’s been a cancellation or two but they always give notice and reschedule for the following day or a later time. It always works out. Today I had been contacted by a former regular of mine who asked to see me, and I politely decinlined due to the fact that he would no call no show on his last 2 appointments. I explained my feelings on it and he understood and said if I change my mind to let him know he would like to see me... safe to say my mind never changed lol.

I gave up trying to sell relatively small value items online. It just isn't worth the time and effort. Even when you are giving away something for free, it's amazing that people will flake on appointments to retrieve items.

When I have something I want to get rid of that has some but not a lot of value, I simply give it away by posting that something free is available on the sidewalk in front of my building and that it's first come, first served. Then I remove the post as soon as the item is taken. For something of greater value, I'd rather use a website other than Craigslist or the like even though it means I'll lose some of my profit in a listing fee on eBay or the like.

It is funny the attitude you sometimes encounter giving stuff away. I advertised a bunch of moving boxes on CL for free: I just wanted to get rid of them after a move. One lady came over and turned up her nose that they weren't exactly the size and shape she was looking for. She seemed really put out. I'm pretty sure I listed the dimensions in the ad since they were standard Home Depot boxes.

I showed her the door politely but inside I'm like wtf? o_O
