That would be Anita Bryant...who, I might add, has been delightfully quite the last 30 years. I wonder what she looks like these days?

In some Latin American countries, he would be called BUGA (pronounced boo-ga). And a buga doesn't know what buga means: that is strictly gay slang. Trix is right: there is no word for "straight" in Spanish other than "hetero"...

Actually, straight men in the Dominican Republic know what buga means. There is a Dominican slang word used in Santo Domingo. The word is bugarron. Both straights and gays use this word. It basically means a man who fucks other men for money. These bugarrons consider themselves to be straight. As is common in Latin American culture, if they aren't getting fucked, they don't consider themselves to be gay. To the bugarrons, the ones getting fucked are locas. Whatever. Whether a man fucking another man is gay or not, is a debate that's been argued many times on these forums.

Indeed she's been quiet, and there are those who won't shed a tear that her singing career tanked either. :o

Now if ANYbody is gay-friendly, April Winchell is, no question.

So how about

the gay-friendly straights are "Friends of Sheila"

and the non-gay-friendly ones are "Friends of Anita."
