Craigs is consumer-monitored, non-specific community standards. If someone doesnt like a post, for any reason whatsoever, they flag it, and its gone.

If you & your neighbor are both listing refrigerators for sale, you can flag his post in an effort to sell yours first.

Assuming you're posting some form of m4m ad... there are sad, lonely creeps determined to keep others equally unhappy. If the word "generous" or any indication that compensation is involved - buyer or seller - theyll flag you.

My experience is that they're not omnipresent. Ads flagged Tuesday can be copied-pasted as new Thursday, without flagging.

It eludes me why anyone chooses to anoint himself as the arbiter of what should and should not be posted. Short of child-endangerment or animal cruelty, I can't imagine flagging someone's m4m post.

I posted 5 different versions today. kept pulling what I thought was causing the flagging. but no luck. I thought it was an auto flag. maybe it is not. .

Are you using words like "Generous?" If you are seeking or selling adult services that is likely to get flagged. Don't know whether it's automated or people taking it upon themselves.

I have to turn my VPN off when posting to keep my ads from getting flagged. I was told that if my IP was from a different city than the city I was posting in that the ad could be flagged. If you're posting you age, height, weight in numbers instead of words it can be misinterpreted as a phone number. Flagging is done by both the community and some sort of scanning software. Also, from what I was told, it takes more than one flag to remove an ad.

No. Not generous. Just a regular let’s meet and fuck ad.

If the automated scan for words or TOS violations flags... itll happen fast. Usually within 60 minutes of posting, often much faster.

If it disappears later than that it's because some prig didnt like it.

I like CL. i have better luck there selling stuff than apps like OfferUp or LetGo. Better than e*Bay. Equal to StubHub, and without fees.

But its the internet - pre-1995: anti-social, pathological, creeps, loners, and losers, were unable to communicate with anyone, except perhaps fight with mom when she came home and yelled at the occupant of her basement. In the age of the internet, all of those same losers can share the symptoms of their antisocial oddities by tapping on a screen, mouse or keyboard.

I dont expect anything online to be free from the disruptive efforts of the losers.

One thing that annoys me about CL is some people can post ad after ad day after day. You'll see 5 ads from the same poster on Monday. Then see 5 more again on Tuesday and it will go on for weeks. I don't know how they do it. Weird and frustrating when all your posts never even get published.

The ad does delete quickly so I am thinking it is automated processing. Any tips on keywords that you can not use? Top, suck, age, size, kiss, underwear, sex, ....

Those should all be ok.

Flags and Community Moderation

craigslist users self-publish tens of millions of free postings each month, subject to the CL terms of use (TOU).

CL users flag postings they find to be in violation via the "prohibited" link at the top of each posting.

Free classified ads sufficiently flagged are subject to automated removal.

Postings may also be flagged for removal by CL staff or CL automated systems.

Millions of ads are removed by flagging monthly, nearly all of which violate the CL terms of use.

Of course no moderation system is perfect, and a small percentage of ads removed are compliant.

Flagged postings that comply with the TOU may be reposted, reworded as necessary.

For help from CL users regarding flagging, visit flag help forum, and follow the instructions there.

Funny or memorable postings may be nominated for "best of craigslist" via the "best-of" link.

It's been a while since I used cl, but yes, strings of numbers get tossed for resembling a phone number. Posting you're 41, 6'1, 175, will get the ad pulled. Replacing a few of the numbers with words will pass muster.

I assume you mean post-1995... I miss the old internet.

Cajunmc, Baskerballer's response is correct, use words instead of numbers. But when you repost your ad, you can also get flagged for posting a "repost" of the same ad. People sometimes repost their ad to move it to the top and Craigslist will flag it (even if it was flagged before so you never really got a chance to post it). So be sure to change the order of the sentences and a few words before you repost again.

I reposted and was quickly reflagged. I give up on CL. Will get laid someplace else. It’s a big horny internet and CL won’t be a part of it.
