Your choices say alot about you. Experts say the style and COLORS of your home reflect your personality, especially in the BEDROOM.... So since we are all basically strangers here, perhaps we can learn a little more about each other by describing our Bedrooms...?

I currently have a "Gilded" connection to Donald Trump.... I am going thru an apt rennovation, and we are currently in process in the Bedroom. Previously, my bedroom was Creamsicle orange with white crown molding, and ebony black lacquer furniture (a bit dated, but I still LOVE it)... Now my bedroom is a Vibrant Parrot Green (see color in pic below) with "Brushed GOLD" crown moldings. Every time I think of my choice it reminds me of those ghastly pics of Donalds NYC penthouse, but myself being a GAY man, has made GOLD tasteful and classy, not cheap and tacky. It also now has the sputnick chandelier shown below, the gold chainlink mirror, 2 of the goldtone accent lamps with cement base on the headboard behind the bed, and the same bronzetone Blinds on the windows. And the huge Modiano poster hangs over the bed in a gilded frame. So there is alot of shine... Guess the theories are RIGHT?

I have a "sparkling" personality.... :p

So, how do YOU sleep ????

White white white white and more white. I freakin love all white decor. White glass floor tile, white walls, white crown molding, white ceiling, white leather bed, white night stands with chrome base lamps, but white shades, white curtains with white sheers, white over stuffed duvet with.....wait for it.......grey accent pillows. ;) Ditto to the master bath and kitchen. Kitchen is all white with white marble tile, but the backsplash is copper penny tiles, ya know just to add a hint of color. Art work is tastefully added throughout to provide just the right amount of color and texture. :D There is a cream colored leather sofa which was the price of a car back in the day, and I just can't bear to part with it, but I'd spray it white if I thought I could get away with it. :p

The place sorta looks like this.

But the good news is, I can always see myself.. ;)

But seriously (in case you never heard this, @bigvalboy), I remember reading a biography of Somerset Maugham many years ago and learning that his wife Syrie (this was during a stab at heterosexuality) was a very successful interior decorator during the 1920s/30s who popularized the idea of decorating rooms entirely in white.

Here's an old piece on her from Architectural Digest ... https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/maugham-article-012000

Thank you for this, I had never heard of her...We could have been sisters.

I even took some antiques from the 40's. Nothing really valuable mind you, but one was a round drum table with matching chairs that had nice bones, and I painted it white, but left the brass lions feet natural. It looks spectacular. I think Syrie would have been proud.
