Does anyone else have words or a phrase that bugs them? One of mine is "gay lifestyle" as if there is only one way to live as a gay person.

"Sexual preference".. it implies that there is a "Conscious" choice being made.. as to which gender someone "Prefers"

Venereal Disease ..Is what you get, when you didn't wear a condom! NS Atlanta

Sexual preference to me always meant top or bottom.

"All-american" look

Posted

While not sex-related, the following things bother me, because they're a corruption of the original saying/phrase:

"step foot in" instead of "set foot in"

"butt naked" instead of "buck naked"

"stomping grounds" instead of "stamping grounds"

"chomping at the bit" instead of "champing at the bit"

"I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less"

I am with you on mangina, but I do not like either of the others, or manhole, or any other such phrases. In fact, when someone starts with their own brand of Jeff Stryker patented pillow talk, I always want to burst out laughing because it all simply sounds like very bad dialogue from a porn movie, likely written by a bunch of drag queens, high as a kite, sitting around gabbing over one too many vente lattes.

RE: None of the Above

I don't like it when people use a sexual homophone instead of the real world. Example: "cumming" to replace "coming."

ReturnofOs: When people with online ads, be them personal or escort, say "All-American look," I always interpret it as racism-incognito...to me it always sounds like "I'm white and you better be too."

I don't see it that way at all. When I hear the phrase, I conjur up an image of a preppy A&F look, chinos, penny loafers worn without socks, LaCoste T and a cotton sweater tied around the neck like a scarf. Under the chinos there will be tighty whities or a jock strap.

He probably plays college football and in the summer, sails off the coast of Nantucket. And.... he probably isn't short of $$$.

Could be black or white - no racist image come to mind.

Bobby and Ian Somerhalder

Damn Bobby,

I checked out your home page and had an "OMG it's Ian Somerhalder" moment. Nice look you're cultivating, bud. If I did indulge in celeb worship, he'd be in my top 5. :*

RE: Bobby and Ian Somerhalder

Hi Zippy, my doppelganger (wait, am I the evil one?)...yeah, it probably is more benign than I read into it. I have just noticed that in a lot of personal ads "All-American" is followed up with "I am white and prefer white guys. Sorry, dudes, don't get offended, that's just how it is." or something similar.

As for Ian...thanks for the comparision, though I'm not sure that he and I look much alike. I guess soon I will post the black and whites that I had taken.

Bobby
