"If we all just had a “button” that we could push, to make all the things and all the people go away we didn’t like, wouldn’t that be nice?" That was a post made here today by someone I will spare the embarrassment...Can you believe it? The diet crazed people have pushed the boundaries from a pill to losing fat; to a button to get rid of people you do not like…..Holy Mother of God. I suspect that those who would use such a button would be more alone than they were before they used it... If people bug you so much, go to the zoo; see what the birds do to get away from other people. I could reference an earlier post here for suggestions, but I won’t. When did people become so dependant upon a queer message center board for their self validation that they would ask for a “button” to make people go away that they didn’t like? Walk away, my brother, walk away. Pick and choose. Bob and weave. Do something, but for the sake of God and of all the sad followers that actually respond to and enjoy your posts, walk away; or PUSH the button in reverse and make yourself disappear. I suspect pushing the “button” in either mode would result in the user of the button regretting his decision. But then, it would be a mistake, for only him to atone for.

ChgoBoy,

Thanks for your insightful and perceptive observations. Perhaps it was moi to whom you were referring, and if so I'll elucidate, if not, sorry for the misread.

I speak from many years of Usenet soc.motss conversations that the aptly named Bozo filter is a "nuclear option" only to rid one's mindspace of the most egregious trollsome sorts. I like lively disagreements as much as the next punter, but to those who vilify the esteemed men of my affections as "cocksucking wh0r3s" (damn, gotta love those word filters!) and the whole escort scene as "acursed" "reprehensible" and "whoremongers" are some Fred Phelps class Bibliophiles that need a little tuning out. There's not much that sort can offer to enlighten me, though if they keep the vicious-level down to "curmudgeonly" I'll kindly whistle past it all.

Zoo visits and any other suggestions welcomed, though keep in mind that I hardly live here, let alone obsess. And I do have some fundie friends that know my proclivities, but are quite polite to keep their fire-n-brimstone rhetoric to themselves.

If you'd like to disagree without calling me some kind of "..."hater (tiresome, is it not?). I'd love to discourse with ya'

Enjoy, bud.

(still dancing the yippee dance that ezboard has an <Ignore> for paid subscribers)

Like the Staples "Easy" Button.

The Button is what my catty friend (we all have one of those, don't we?) calls this guy at our gym who has a very small penis and insists on wearing very tight lycra shorts with no underwear. It does look like a button! :)

I never pay attention to the "Escort of the Year" poll conducted here, so I have no idea who (if anyone) won last time around. But if this site ever gives an award for "Escort Who Most Relentlessly Uses this Site to Promote Himself," I can't imagine voting for anyone but Rick. The way he constantly creates posts that have absolutely nothing to do with the thread in which they appear and serve absolutely no purpose but to advertise himself is simply marvelous.

I don't always agree with what Rick says when he's being serious, but he's often pretty amusing -- as in this post. He also often uses his humor to deflect tension in acrimonious threads or to express support. Is it self-promotion? Sure (just about all postings by escorts here serve to promote the escort). Does it serve other purposes too? Yes. And, after all, I'd hate to be accused of being a censor. (All this is, of course, just IMHO.) :D

Oops, I just realized that I may have been a bit indelicate. woodlawn...you're "The Button," aren't you? :o (The lycra shorts really aren't that bad, but you might want to try a jock or some briefs underneath.)

Indelicate? Button up! Revealing such personal info about woodlawn was not nice. Don't do it again!:)

Rick, thanks for that follow-up post. I can definitely use it the next time you decide to lie and deny that you ever engage in personal attacks against other posters here. Don't say I didn't warn you. :)
