It is more than likely that there are other readers here who would also like information regarding the escort. Why not just post your information right out front? What is the big secret?

A PM is a private conversation. Plus, often we know each other and we know how reliable and trustable our interlocutor is. There are details I share with a trusted friend that I would not share with a forum member I do not know.

Latbear4blk if it is indeed a matter of privacy then I must assume that you did not write reviews and objected to those who did. Reviews were and most, past ones, still are available available to all readers. I NEVER recall posters objecting to reviews based upon privacy issues. Since no current reviews are being posted the only way to learn something about an escort is through a 411 inquiry. I simply do see where privacy is an issue here. I certainly understand that a response to a 411 request cannot be as long and as detailed as previous reviews but certainly general information can be provided.

There is a huge difference between simply verifying that the escort is legit, the photos are accurate, and he delivers on what he advertises; and going into a blow-by-blow (pun intended) account of the session.

 

People can do whatever they want here that doesn't violate the rules, but I have to admit that I find it annoying also. It's better than when people post "I sent you a PM." That one makes me crazy. Just send the damn PM, they will get it, the rest of us don't need to know about it.

But if you want to talk about the reviews, let me share I do not include in there many details that I am willing to address by PM. I know other folks disagree, it is all about where to set our level of discretion.

Also, we cannot compare the reviews with the info we share here. Any crazy guy can come here, open an account, and post a bunch of lies about an escort or about a client. The reviews go through a vetting process and the object of criticism has the chance to respond and defend himself.

As a matter of fact, general information is shared in the 411 threads.

Ok latbear4blk when it came to reviews I found totally worthless ones in which the reviewer described the escort and then finished with "what went on privately between us will remain between us. What is the fucking point? Why bother? I could most likely read a description of the escort on rentmen and even see photographs of him. Frankly I want to know what he is willing and what he is not willing to do and how well he performs. Now I realize we can't be that descriptive in a 411 response but I still content that some valuable information can and should be presented to all.

I also believe that if PM is the way someone wants to go then MickeyGMin is exactly correct. Why make a public announcement regarding a PM simply PM the 411 poster..

As I recall the old software allowed members not to see alerts regarding PM's. You had to check the box asking to be alerted. If a member did not receive alerts, then it was necessary to tell someone you were sending a PM. The new software, I believe is different, but not everyone is aware of the change. I often forget, and will tell someone that I'm sending the PM when in fact it is not necessary.

 

However.... In the past, there have been several forum members who would use a members negative critique of an escort to attack them. While it still occurs, thankfully the most egregious offenders are no longer here or have moved on. Taking conversations to a PM alleviates that.

 

I just don't see how talking privately in a PM would bother someone. Not everything is for public consumption, and frankly some of the conversations are none of my business.

I disagree on your assessment of the reviews content. I do not need the details, I need a verification of the information in the ad and the impressions about the escort personality that cannot be communicated in a hookers website profile. I also appreciate some kind of evaluation of the professional love making skills. That is why I bother.

 

I agree with your last sentence. I wonder whether I have done that. Is it perhaps an automatic behavior triggered by a subconscious need to show off that you have information? It does not really bother me though.

For me the only case for keeping things in PM is for spas who could loose their licences.

Otherwise in my reviews, I will not keep private anything that relevant to the service type and the quality of the encounter.

Funny, just today I was noticing the plethora of "411" threads on the board and thinking, "damn, we really need Daddy to get the reviews working again..."

 

Do any of the mods/admins have any data on that? Could someone who knows Daddy better than I suggest an update on the home page?

 

I have been chalking up the 411s as a temporary substitute for the missing reviews. Given the rule about no reviews in the forums, it seemed to me that people were giving the basic summary ("legit", "great time", "save your money", "OMG run like hell") in public for the benefit of both the poster and the general readership, and using PMs for details if the poster wanted more.

 

But I've been known to be simplistic and naive.... :-)
