I have been in London for one month for work. I have reviewed all the usually online guide sites to try to find any street action with rentboys. I have visited the stations, the cottages, and even the saunas. The escort sites, backpage, and classifieds all have a nice selection of guys, but there has to be some street action or park action somewhere for rentboys. Any suggestions from the experienced pros here?

Well, I tried the cemetery for three days. The only action was regular gay men cruising on the western side of the central circle. There were lots of aging homeless men in the side pathways, but only one skinny kid of about 20 with a dog who was emancipated, unwashed, and obviously sick. He was busy with his heroin. I asked each of them if there we're rentboys around, but they knew of none. I tried the streets between the cemetery and Villa Gianni but no action. I actually saw two of the escorts from VG exit and they were definitely higher class Brazilians and not street trade. I also tried the Earls Court and West Brompton stops but no action.

 

So, no street trade or classic rentboys to be found. Surely London has not completely abandoned the street trade.

I've lived in London for more than a decade, escorting on and off for much of that time, and I haven't heard of any established street trade. When I moved down the internet had already encroached on the territory of the backs of magazines, and between the two most escorts were pretty well served.

 

Maybe more pertinently, there was still some hetero street trade around King's Cross in the earliest days I spent in London, but the Met had already started to drive people away from there. They tolerate some well run brothels (even though they are technically illegal), but they are not generally tolerant of street solicitation.

Where do you find street trade anywhere in the world these days?

As I have found over the past year traveling for work, the street trade is quite active in Central/South America, Northern Africa, the Middle East, and certain European cities. The street scene predominates there in certain parks, near/in porn theatres, near/in train stations, and near gay bars. I have another week in London to continue the search!

What European cities still have a street scene? I like you always look but don't seem to find (at least on the street). I would even settle for a hustler bar.. Don't get me wrong..I love the internet but like the option of meeting a few guys and then choosing.
