Actually anywhere along 5th A venue is indeed the best place to watch. There are "announcer areas" at 36th, 25th, and 8th Streets if you want more info on the participants passing by. Likewise for Christopher and Bleeker Streets, but I would advise avoiding that area.

While I am not able to attend this year based on past experience definitely avoid the Christopher Street area as it being a very narrow street can get quite claustrophobic as happened to us about three years ago... would never go to that area ever again to view the parade. The confinement was like being in a can of sardines and there was no escape... Well we eventually did escape by crossing some police barriers.

With any luck some who live in the City might offer some insight into other areas for prime viewing. All I can say is watching along 5th Anevue in the past has always been a pleasant experience and one can easily move from area to area (at least on what ever side of the street that you are on) so as to change your vantage point.

I would suggest watching it on ABC with an escort of your choice in bed with you. Failing that, I agree that Christopher Street and Bleeker are very narrow and while the crush of sweaty man flesh may be fun, it is not for the faint of heart. I would suggest getting there relatively early to get anywhere near the street on Fifth Avenue.

Two more comments about Christopher Street... the sound of the cheers for groups as they passed by was deafening and ultimately irritating as the cacophonous din reverberated in the constristed area. Also, for some reason there was not a "crush of sweaty man flesh" as interestingly (at least in that occasion) many in the crowd were very young women who seemed to swarm the area like a sea of honeybees leaving the hive. Nothing wrong with that, but as mentioned they were very vocal. The crowd on 5th Avenue was more "reserved"... well relatively speaking... or at least the cheers had a greater expanse in which to dissipate.

Watching on ABC Channel 7 is not a bad idea... I like the way PK thinks!

What are some of the best locations along 5th Avenue to watch the Pride Parade tomorrow? Are there restaurants to watch from that you enjoy? Where will you hang out?

Apparently my apartment, as the parade ends right at my front door.
