I've read that for escorts you leave the cash on the night table. What about for masseurs?

I always pay at the end in cash. No envelope. Just folded. And say thank you and they go on their way. They have never counted the cash in front of me.

Is this the most common way? Or should I pay upfront? Use an envelope? Count the money as I'm giving the cash?

Only difference is I leave cash on the massage table.

Never pay upfront. Don't count the money as I'm paying. No envelope.

I've never had a masseur count the money in front of me. They never want me to hand it to them. Just put on the massage table.

Relax, as you mentioned, they never recount, they seem to trust us. It isn't a big deal as long as a fair amount is being paid.

I count in front of them at the end, unless they ask upfront. I count because I would never know how much I would give them if I didn't count! So I do it visibly, so that both I and they know how much is changing hand.

Simple.

And yes, I leave it somewhere if it is their place. If my place, well I hand it over.

I agree - I have it counted out ahead of time and folded in my wallet or pocket --

I pay at the end after I have put my clothes back on and leave it on the massage table or the separate table where I put my glasses and masseur is apt to have oils and small cloths/towels to wipe up the semen.

Most of my masseurs are regular and we know each other but I do the same thing with a new masseur. Low key --

Do you then also tip a regular amount at the reception area so the cashier you're paying for the massage doesn't think you're walking away without tipping?

no reception areas - my regular masseurs all have private studios or work out of their homes -- We are country up here:):)

Honestly, I don't give the cashier any concern and couldn't care less what they think. I tip the masseur directly. It's no different than leaving a cash tip for the diner waiter/waitress on the table and not with the cashier.

Extra points if you do it while they wait...

I have always been of the belief that paying upfront by leaving it on the table (not the massage table....but a nightstand, table where you place your car keys , etc) is cheesy....very 1950's bad B film type energy... and gives the masseur the impression that you feel that they might not trust you, so you pay up front. I think it starts it out on the wrong foot. In addition, if the massage sucks or there are other issues.....you have already paid :( I agree with most, that just handing them the money at the end is the best idea. Then if the session was great you can slip a tip in there when you pay at the end. That I think is the best etiquette on how to pay a masseur.

At private locations, I leave the money on the massage table or side table.

If I have been there before, I have the money pre counted. If I'm new there, I'm not shy about counting in front of the guy. And I have never felt like the guy watches me count.

I have never seen a guy count the money I put on a table also.
