When I meet a masseur who obviously takes his work seriously, I'm hesitant to make the first move; it feels disrespectful to assume that a quality masseur is a sex worker.

I think is like if you go to a baker and ask for a full banquet. Is disrespectful in the sense that it implies you might not be satisfied with the service provided. But I see no harm in asking.. do you also escort? As you said nothing wrong with being an escort in my opinion.
