@MileHigh , you made a mistake and were nicely call out. I know I always addressed you respectfully. Instead of apologizing and moving on, you are turning into a troll. Just apologize, you were wrong.

You know I have utmost respect for you, and absolutely adore all the posts and comments of yours... I just don't understand all the reaction to the post... In fact, you said ask... It's a great pointer you give... Too bad I didn't ask one time, and the escort (who you know very well) did end up being +. So because I was naive and new, I trusted that the escort would be upfront... And if this forum is supposed to be open for a good discussion about whether someone should be hired based on their qualities, I feel it's a legitimate question for someone to ask if they are safe and clean or not, especially if may be as a client you know and I don't!

And if the only purpose of this forum is to discuss only how big the ass is and make comparisons of it to an Old Buick, Then everyone is just shallow when a real question is being asked or an issue raised!

Use your common sense. There are topics that do not belong in a public discussion. Providers' privacy rights deserve as much respect as clients'.

Also be aware of the context for your comment and the wording you choose, as written communication can be misinterpreted. I don't think any one needs a lecture on all the discrimination and stigmatization related to HIV status. Be tactful. We are discussing human beings.

Well... I guess I am still learning ... And I'm glad that we have a master like you @latbear4blk, who can teach and guide. But in any case, we also need to respect everyone's opinions here and comments, whether it is to our likings or not.

I wonder if from earlier this mornings post whether I can still be your prey ;). You still have that leash for me being your puppy?? Much love and respect to you my master... You can never be truly mad at your young apprentice :p:D:)

I'm not sure I can totally agree with you. Wouldn't you say that in the normal course of events knowing whether a guy we don't know is a top/bottom/ versatile or how large their penis is information we shouldn't have about him? I'm going to bet that most escorts would not be up front about whether they are HIV positive. Kudos to the guys who are.

Are you ready to be eaten alive now for having the balls to disagree? A least they give me a slack for being a newbie... But you are a Regent my man!

I may be wrong, but I always thought it is common understanding that because of stigma and discrimination, specially in the adult entertainment industry, HIV status is protected by discretion and respect for others privacy.

And that's why I said I wasn't totally sure. But it's not fair for a client to never be told that fact by the escort either.

Exactly right. It's a lot more than 'not fair.' In some states, it would be a felony.

If you can't count on an escort to tell you that he's working bareback with an incurable disease, I suggest protecting yourself by any means possible: PrEP... Condoms... Dental dams... Large painters dropcloth.

okay, that last one was just to see who's paying attention

I would never pretend to have the right to demand from anyone that information. It is private. And I stop here before the friend @Larstrup sends me another ping pong animation.

We will then have to respectfully disagree. On the other hand-a point no one has mentioned-do you feel a client has the same right to keep that information private about himself and never tell the escort?

It does not matter if we are talking about a client or an escort or a lover with no money involved. If a person is HIV+, in my opinion, he or she has the obligation to be responsible and make sure does not spread the infection, but in no way this person has any obligation at all to disclose his or her status to anyone. No one has the right to demand from anyone the disclosure of this information.

I am negative, I would love to have the input of a pos friend here.

And I will again disagree. You have a large number of escorts advertising they are willing to bareback and clients as well. Even if on PrEP or treatment for HIV, who knows if they (clients or escorts) are taking it consistently or not? In many ways this reminds me of the early days of HIV when many gays were militantly against the closing of the bathhouses and the pro condom campaigns.

So what are you proposing? Maybe they have to wear a vest with the positive sign for everyone to know they are dangerous?

No one said demand anywhere in this conversation. Legally forcing people to disclose their status isn't what I personally want to see.

My issue remains honesty, integrity and always remembering that you're carrying an incurable (for now), expensive to manage disease. We can dress up HIV any which way we choose, but it's still being transmitted and it's still killing people. If you're going into sexwork, you have a MUCH larger responsibility to yourself and to others.

EDIT: The Scarlet Letter comment was a little over the top. Let's keep this realistic.

Agree. And I still will stand up for the right of any person to keep his or her status private, even if he or she is a sex worker. It is not contradictory to being responsible.

Since we're keeping this not only realistic, but factual - HIV has never killed anyone.

Now we're just splitting hairs.

Complications from HIV... Better?

And that's where your ignorance still promotes your grandiosity. People around the world are living with HIV - not dying from it.

Splitting hairs? really?

NO. Not even that. Many, if not most, infected with HIV today and under proper and compliant ARV's, are more likely to pass with conditions unrelated to the HIV virus. As an escort, and a well informed person, you should know this and make more responsible statements regarding it.
