Is there a correlation between taking testosterone and the ability to achieve and maintain an erection?

What are members personal experiences they would care to share? Is there any fact based research that can be shared?

I guess it doesn't help a lot, or difficult to operate, most pills for ED seem not to relate to testosterone.

Taking testosterone is usually part of ED therapy for men.

The only thing that reliably boosts Testosterone is Testosterone! There are all sorts of Testosterone "supplements" - if they are not Testosterone they do not work. Many have caffeine and you think you are much more "active" but it is the caffeine effect. If you take these OTC supplements and measure your free testosterone before and after - no change. Furthermore, Testosterone cannot be given by mouth (molecule size and breakdown in stomach), tho it is being worked on, so again the OTC's lose.

As far as correlation between ability to achieve and maintain erections - yes, there is a correlation but it has to do with libido, the ability to want/desire to have sex. If there is no issue with ED, then if your Free Testosterone level is OK you will have the erection.

ED has more to do with the mechanics of getting and maintaining the erection and not with the desire to have one. Therein lies the frustration point: if the body desires but cannot do (whether mind or body causes), no manner of increasing Testosterone will do the trick. Testosterone therapy is only used in ED treatment if the Free Testosterone level is suboptimal, which is often not the case. Lowered Testosterone is a matter of normal aging but certainly can be returned to "optimal". It's what I do in my practice.
