Last Saturday I met with a guy for the first time. We seemed attracted to each other , ok, it was a hook-up.

We were at his place. And in the course of human events, he indicated he would like to fellate me. Not wanting to be an ill-mannered guest, I agreed, and we went to his bedroom.

Matters proceeded as they will. It was feeling pretty good except for an occasional stinging somewhere in the area of my urethral meatus. I guess I should mention that while not normal for me, this was the fourth time I had been fellated in three days (I don't believe I've ever had this much oral in such a short time period since I quit hiring and used to go on weekend excursions with escorts). So the mild stinging sensation is somewhere in the head of my tallywacker, but it's diffuse. So I can't locate it exactly.

After we finished, I went to his bathroom to pee. I didn't look down into the bowl of the toilet immediately because my gut was in the way. But when I did there was bright red blood in the lower portion of the toilet where the water collects. It was quite shocking although I know it only takes a little bit of blood to make things extremely red in water. I then wiped myself with toilet paper and blood came away. I wiped a couple of more times and the blood tapered off and disappeared.

I'm a bit freaked. Considering the stinging and the fact that this was my fourth oral in three days, I'm thinking there is a good chance the urethral meatus either got irritated or cut by overzealous fellating or just too much fellatio in too short a time.

The other thing freaking me out was trying to decide whether to tell my new friend, Clarence.

I was fairly sure I'm negative disease-wise as I had had everything checked about a month ago. Plus I'm on PrEP. I normally use PrEP only as a secondary line of defense with condoms. But I had slipped up awhile back with a buddy whom I thought was also on PrEP. Turns out he had been on PrEP. But had lost his job/got a new one and was waiting for new insurance before re-starting PrEP. Chances were low that I had caught anything from him, but...

So I'm in a quandary about whether to tell Clarence. I know I'm probably 'healthy' but there's a risk-not just for HIV but for gonorrhea and chlamydia-of course that risk was there whether I had bled or not. It's also possible that I didn't bleed until I peed, and that he wasn't exposed to blood at all. And I know if I tell him, it's going to freak him out.

All this goes thru my mind in the 2 minutes that I'm in the bathroom.

I finally decide that it's dishonest if I don't tell him. So I did. He kept it together physically. But I was pretty sure on the inside he was freaked. I mean putting myself in his position-that's how I would feel if someone told me I might have swallowed a significant amount of blood.

We finished up pretty quickly at that point. As this was Saturday, I went directly to a hospital affiliated Urgent Care. They did all the routine tests. The results were just communicated to me. Disease-wise I seem to be negative. I've told Clarence and sent him copies of the lab reports.

So did I do right to tell, Clarence, or should I not have said anything and waited for the lab results before talking with him if necessary?

With the path I chose, I doubt we'll be meeting again. :(

I'd say yes you did the right thing. Not easy...but right. And if the consequence is you don't see "Clarence" again, well YOU still did the right thing. good job....good karma Gman.

Was there any trace of blood in the urine from Saturday?

Poor Clarence was probably sucking blood while giving you that BJ. Not sure I would tell him right away. I've had it happen twice before. My cockring days caused it. One time I came and it was bloody. I'll never forget that.

Nothing visible. But 3+ on the dip. I'm going to assume it is urethral irritation considering it still stings somewhere in the area a bit and not bladder cancer. But I'm getting my urine re-checked for blood today.

If the urine continues to show blood, go see a urologist. You may need to be scoped. It could be a bladder polyp(s).

That's the main reason I'm seeing my NP today, so I can get a urology referral. I hadn't thought about a polyp. I'd prefer that to bladder cancer.

I think you'll be ok...your self-diagnosis of too much (you dog ;) )oral sex might be it, happened to me once. But you're right getting it checked out

Obviously there's concern - and someone correct me if you'd like - but aside from a "yuck" factor I wouldn't view swallowing some blood along with urine/semen any more dangerous than swallowing semen...?

I agree. I don't think aggressive cock sucking can do that unless you're all teeth. Even then it's unlikely to effect the inside of it. Believe me. I've tested those waters. Besides my own experience I've been with someone in that situation and his was medical.

It would appear you two are equally terrible at sex.

Do you take a blood thinner by any chance? I've experienced that type of irritation after a horny few days of self indulgence and being on Warfarin I've had bleeding and on occasion a bloody cum shot.

That was really uncalled for.

I believe I gave Gman exactly what he was searching for, which is to say, yet another way to feed into his pathological need for sympathy.

I commented, and everyone else came running to prop Gman up.

Actually you couldn't be more wrong. But I'll be glad to explain why I posted. I posted because I wasn't sure I had done the right, or if both options were right, the best thing.

Considering the fact that it was most likely going to freak my partner out and worry him, and considering that there was little chance I had HIV or any other illness (although I'll admit the possibility was there), I was interested in seeing whether anyone thought I should have just waited until I got all my test results back. Since if the test results were all negative, as they turned out to be, there would be no need to tell my partner and cause him worry.

Never ignore blood in your urine. It could be something as simple as mild irritation, but it could just as well be something much more serious. Please call your doctor

I believe you did the right thing by telling him and going to get checked out. It's probably something non-transmittable, but you never know.

Well actually you were dishonest with Clarence, in that you allowed him to fellate you knowing full well that you were potentially exposing him to whatever disease you might have caught while being irresponsibly inconsistent with PrEP. You did not know your full medical status then, and until you emerge from any pertinent incubation period, you do not know it now either. Telling him after the fact accomplishes nothing, other than to inform him that he might have just become infected with something.

I think you may have misread a previous post of mine. I'm happy to re-explain for you. I haven't been inconsistent with my PrEP. I've taken it consistently in the almost two years I've been on it. I actually don't think I've missed more than one or two doses during that time. It was my friend who had quit taking it.

As for exposing Clarence to something else, no sex is perfectly safe. My PrEP provider even told me of a case of someone getting infected with syphilis thru oral sex.

If it was his tallywacker that was bleeding would you want to know?

You did good. Saw a problem, did due diligence, communicated the results.

It's easy to catch syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and more from oral sex. For example, variants of HPV known to cause cancer are spreading rapidly in American men who engage in unprotected oral sex.

Why does it seem these forums have taken a host of negative and nasty posts lately. We lost our dear @juanvancouver over it. Sad.

It was Clarence who was inconsistent with PreP. Not the OP.
