In the spirit of the tournament, loser should take winner to Steak'n'Shake followed by a few rounds at Kamm's and then hang out in the lower level johns at the Undergraduate library and then sit outside the men's johns on the second floor of the Union. (At least these were the usual spots in the mid-70's)

Usually a very cute frat guy, dressed in leathers, tons of makeup, jumping up and down and doing spread eagle splits, his package up and out, so that he will look ferocious, dominating and demanding on any field of play? Big Illini fan and former alum here, however, the image of Illiniwek is pretty offensive to Native Americans ... and regardless of how hot the guy may be ... I get their point.

 

The game tonight was a nail-biter ... despite the close score, Illinois gave the game away.

Always thought of the Chief as a symbol of deep respect. Certainly not on the same level as the San Diego chicken or Atlanta's Chief Nok-A-Homa or Cleveland's symbol. Oh well, we made it to the finals. Better than the final four year with the "Flying Illini" and certainly better than the Audie Matthews/Levi Cobb payoff years where we were paying off second rate players who couldn't even produce. All those years were Comb-over Lou won his twenty and fizzled-out in the round of 32. Hello, Gene Bartow, take a seat.
