Can someone please tell me why the reviews on RentMen and RentMasseur are even relevant if anything that is posted on those sites that is negative can be removed by the escort/masseur? How can these sites allow it, and that defeats the purpose of reviews. I posted a negative review about my experience with https://rentmasseur.com/LITTLEFRANCO. There was also a negative review from a year ago. My review was approved and published by the site. Later in the day, I saw that my negative review as well as the other negative review were removed. This defeats the purpose of reviews if escorts/masseurs can control what is published under their profiles. Very disappointed and defeats the purpose of reviews. Can't trust these sites! Do they cater to clients or only escorts/masseurs? Anyone has any thoughts on this?

Then what's the point of those reviews

A positive review, whether legit or not, enhances the person who pays for the ad. Again, if you were the person paying for the ad, wouldn't you want the benefits of all positive reviews? I sure would.

Does that mean you should take any of those reviews seriously? No, you should not take them seriously. Some of us never bother to read them.

Then what's the point of those reviews ... They should not even have any on those sites?

RM reviews are certainly not 100% reliable, but they are far from useless, IMHO. While reviews on the Daddy’s Reviews site are the most informative and reliable out there (thanks to all the work and vetting that Daddy puts into them), they are not currently being published, and they simply don’t exist for everyone who is currently advertising. Under these circumstances, RM reviews, as incomplete and imperfect as they are, may still be the best available option for obtaining information about someone. In that regard, here are a few points of would make:

1. Positive reviews, if genuine, can provide a reasonable degree of assurance that the advertiser is not using fake pictures and is not some sort of scam artist. How can you know if the reviewers are genuine? Well, in many cases, you can get a pretty good idea by following these steps, outlined by @Despardo :

I scroll through RM reviews for whatever information I can get. I look at the following to determine if the reviews are credible:

The time frame over which the reviews have been posted--6 months, 2 years, etc. and how frequently vs. how long the escort has been advertising on RM.

The length of time a reviewer has been a RM member--did they join the day they posted the review or had they been a member for years?

The cities where the reviewer lives or where he met the escort.

The number of escorts each reviewer has reviewed and who.

Whether any information is available about the reviewer.

When I have contacted specific reviewers for additional information, many have been forthcoming.

Of course I consider the number of reviews and the proportion of good to bad.

So, I don't find RM reviews to be completely useless.

https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/reliable-rent-men-reviewers.120896/ (post 8). I would also ad that while RM’s policies and procedures change from time to time, they do seem to require phone/code verification for reviewers, which makes it marginally more difficult for people to game the system.

2. If there are a significant number of genuine clients who have been happy enough to submit positive reviews, the odds that their companions make a habit of no shows, financial rip-offs, or generally poor behavior or bad attitude/service are probably much less than people who have no reviews, especially if those people have been in business awhile (in other words, a lack of negative reviews is not the same as the presence of positive reviews). Having said that, things often boil down to “chemistry,” so there are no guarantees that just because someone else had a good experience that you will too. The fact that RM no longer allows written reviews in the United States can make it harder to evaluate other peoples’ experiences. But don’t blame them for that; blame the Department of “Homeland Security” and overzealous prosecutors. https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/rentmen-com-reviews-no-longer-allowing-text.111330/

3. While the deletion of negative reviews is troubling, keep in mind that it in a world where people crave anonymity and discretion, it can be hard to sort out of the truth, and RM is understandably not inclined to spend the time/money necessary to investigate/arbitrate disputes about whether negative reviews are warranted. As others have pointed out, there is also a financial incentive for them to err on the side of their advertisers. At one point, they explained to @Keith30309 “We do post non-positive reviews. But when an escort only has 1 or 2 reviews that are not positive, we reject & hold them till more reviews come in. This allows us to make a good judgement of the escorts character. Your info is valuable to us & would be posted when more reviews from other clients " https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/rm-reviews.122326/page-2 (post 21). I have certainly seen them keep negative reviews up in some cases, even in at least one questionable case: https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/more-credibility-for-bad-rentmen-reviews.118909/ (post 10). Also, in at least one case, after much prompting from @stevenkesslar, they deleted the account of someone who was shown to be using fake pictures. https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/way-to-detect-frauds.113761/ (post 15)

Having said all that, I am sorry you had a bad experience, and I certainly understand your frustration about the situation. As others have pointed out, this business is not really in the "consumer protection" world; it's more "caveat emptor" and that doesn't look likely to change soon. https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/does-rm-have-a-responsibility-to-block-ads-from-people-like-brodie-sinclair.110665/#post-1041589
