I disagree. While it'd be great if potential clients went from a rentmen ad to the escort's individual site, the fact is most don't. Most glean all the info they need from the original ad. And if he's going to bait and switch with the prices (listing a rate that's only for massage on his escort ad), then he could mention it somewhere in the multiple paragraphs of text included in that ad, rather than expecting the client to discover it as a small footnote elsewhere.

@Kevin Slater , I agree with you. Were this to be Adam Schmidlap he would be getting roasted, not toasted. If he has a multi-tiered pricing plan then he should list "Ask Me" as the rate and explain his rate structure in the body of his ad or list the massage rate and explain in the body of his ad that the listed rate is for massage only.

I know this guy has gotten some good reviews but I have to say I wonder how?

https://rentmen.com/SimplyAdam

He currently has an ad which says Chicago, China and SaudiArabia til Feb. 28. I sent a message asking which city and got an automated reply that he is on a personal retreat in NEPAL until Feb. 28.

Seems a bit flaky and bad business. Anyone know what's up?

I always assumed that the escort submits one review from a separate account and then has his fellow escorts submit other favorable reviews. I'm I wrong?

  • 2 weeks later...

"Namaste!" from Nepal -

What an intense thread... with heaps of assumptions/projections. (And a few defenses - thank you, gentlemen.)

For the record:

1.) In my RentMen ad, per their policy, I state "All travel dates are for pre-booking only. (If you're visiting NYC in the near future, chances are I'll be here regardless of my itinerary.)" Before I contact any professional (escort, acupuncturist, reiki master...) and ask of their time, I'm happy to spend two minutes reading the entirety of their ad (also so I don't waste my time). Many don't have the patience in our culture of clickbait and soundbites (which is in large part why we have our charlatan-in-chief), but I believe I'm quite transparent and fair in my deeply intentional advertising - and "well-oiled" outreach (that includes follow-up via multiple mediums and newsletters and scheduled so as not to be any more excessive than other professionals).

2.) I post several links to my website within the advertising text, including a direct link to all rates, and make it clear that I want men to go from the advertisement to my website. I'm not a commodity who does one pat thing. I'm an individual who is many-sided and whose services are multi-layered - and tiered. As most men are multi-faceted and harbor needs that are fluid and complex... and run deeper than fleeting desires. In our quick fix culture, I require thoughtfulness on both sides. It models respect between two men before an encounter I hope will be as human as it is hot.

3.) Your observations are right. I do very well... and my business has only increased since September due to the updated RentMen language and technique. Wildly so. Visits to my website in the USA and targeted countries has soared (Google analytics) and I've taken on Skype/phone coaching consultations (so, yes, I'm in Shanghai and Mumbai... Toronto and Buffalo... this very moment if I wish to be). :) (Just two days ago, from my apartment in Kathmandu, I followed up with a client in an American city I'll never visit, and he has revolutionized his life, forgiven his parents, and is having anxiety-free sex with men for the first time after over 20 years being out of the closet. All this because I advertise in different cities - success! Multiple escorts over several years, and in three Skype sessions - he figured it out!)

4.) All my reviews are from actual clients. I used to ask my clients to write reviews for me (hence the first year's onslaught of first time reviews), and then I stopped - and kept getting reviews, mostly from multiple reviewers. You'll witness that trend in my review thread.

Out of the box, guys - really. Let's get out of the box... I'm extremely deliberate in what I do and believe my approach and the actual services I provide are steeped in morality with the goal of long-term liberation and insight. I encourage all people reading my ad to go to my website and tap into this mindset before contacting me. It's not respectful to reach out to someone without carefully reading the information they have provided. Sadly, this is becoming more and more the norm (any escort here can remember a few years back when most text messages included a signature, and two questions would get two answers). I won't dumb myself down or cater to others' impatience. This degrades the client when I wish to uplift him. Rise up... be mindful. You're seeking out an intimate exchange.

What I was doing two or three years ago is not what I'm doing today. The goal for most, in my opinion, is to not need to see escorts in the future. Escorts are best when they are a way-station... inciters of insight... a means to freedom... Not a crutch. Not the impossible obtained - for a moment. This is the reason I don't have a six pack or strive for model good-looks. I want to be healthy, sure, but don't want to be seen as separate. I don't want to be a fantasy (though will employ fantasy to point to reality). I never seek to entrap or addict men. I sneak into their desire, disrupt it - gently - then support them in seeing how they can get what they want... on their own. I don't sell maintenance, I promote transformation.

This new model keeps broadening and bettering - and 4 July, 2017, my lease ends - and I'll be off and away... Probably taking a one or two-year vaca, then slowly doing Skype sessions from South Asia. Who knows. It's all blissfully open.

We've entered a tenuous and dark era. Things are just going to get more turbulent from here, and social upheaval has already started. Please make a concerted effort to be kind to one another and assume the best in one another. We're all doing the best we can.

The amount of prank calls and cancellations and threats are increasing for many escorts. It's important that while we're "service providers," anyone discussing us on forums or elsewhere keeps in mind the many delicate balances we walk - and, again, assume the best. Remember the nuances of other people's experience and, foremost, their vulnerabilities - their humanity. I commend anyone in this industry who treats people with respect. We continually witness the blindnesses and cruelties of society more than most.

I've been way more privileged than most - financially, and with the kindness, thoughtfulness - quality - of my clients. But even for me it hasn't been easy. I'm eager to give it my all the last four months in New York (I return 1 March), as I'll miss these connections - and the constant hotness of them - once I'm doing whatever, wherever... but it's definitely time to turn the page.

I love what I do, and I'm thrilled with what it's becoming. However, it's become increasingly frustrating to communicate with people (especially via text). Our capacity to pay attention is spiraling out of control, and it pains me to witness it. Paying attention is about the greatest gift you can give to anyone. Please... pay... attention. I promise to do the same.

Adam
