Recently heard the song written for PENN-aka Univ of Pa in phila-used at sports events and other gatherings titled "Drink a Highball" ..

The title sounds anachronistic: I picture greenwich ct types and their woodies-lol- when woodies meant something else like 1950's wood paneled station wagons used to bring Dad to the station where he embarked on his ride to Midtown manhattan and likely hoisted some highballs at lunch...

But the words to the song were really funny-something like:

"Drink a highball-at nightfall

Be good fellows while you may

For tomorrow may bring sorrow-

so tonite lets all be gay!"

think they had any idea THEN what that word would eventually mean?

this song got me thinking about my college days and my most handsome best bud.

recall first time I sat in his room reading the paper while he stripped off to get ready for bed my heart was beating 400 per minutes as the khakis then size 32 jockey briefs slid away to reveal a finely toned bod...

..then a couple of years later he tried more than once to slide his hands into my pajamas when we were on a trip and I fought him off and said no-

scared shitless was I at the thought of m4m at the time-jeez

did anyone else out in the hooboy audience have a similar experience at this stage of life when he just felt too uptight to let it happen?

if yes then WHEN did you FINALLY let go and enjoy yourself with another guy?

In high school a boy offered to suck my dick. After thinking about it I stuttered and said no. Still closeted then, but knowing I found boys attractive, I thought that as long as I didn't do the deed I still wasn't gay.

I'll save my first time for a later time.

Both answers bring me back to the military school I went to in high school. A few hundred teens, pecking orders and uniforms, group showers, varsity athletics and, of course, roomates. ;-)

Great question for discussion. Wish I had such an experience to tell about. I yearned for some of my classmates but too scared to act at my eastern Jesuit College.

No one ever made a move on me...:-(

Penn has had a very active gay student group since the 70s. When I was a student there in the 60s, there was a lot of gay sex in the dorms. I remember fucking a spectacular blond freshman (the dean of admissions had a thing for blonds) while his roommate, who had arranged the occasion, watched.
