I've seen quite a bit of that lately but I didn't really put 2+2 together that it was a decline in Google's search & matching capability rather than simply no matches existing.

I'd have to go back to some images I had found matches for and re-search them, though that's not 100% conclusive.

I've noticed this too - it's been that way for a while now.

It still does provide matches for pics that are clearly matchable, but I tend to wonder if less pics are matchable than they used to be. And yes, those odd generalizations that sometimes come up are off putting. (I hate, for instance, doing an image search with for a pic with an escort with no shirt on, only to get "barechested" as an answer. I mean, duh...)

Google's image search seems to have gone down in quality. Maybe it's the prevalence of tumblr photos, but I keep getting "this is the only size we find" or a descriptor, such as bicep or man.

Anyone else agree with this, or have further suggestions?

SAME here. Hardly EVER works now and USED to at least 50-60% of the times.

I dunno guys, back in the day I'd have done him...

SO weird cause I always thought there was something kinda cute about him too, like a little squirrel lol. Saw him in person maybe 2 years ago, pretty sure a hair weave has replaced his hair in an attempt to look the same as he used to but it really looked like a weave to me. NOT that it matters btw, I just prefer em natch. Matthew McConaughey, Jude Law, both practically bald in off-screen life but I'd still do 'em

I'd snatch that weave off that boy and yell, Put out bitch!

(Since we're fantasizing about straight boys past their prime.)

  • 4 weeks later...

My memory may be failing me, but I thought I recalled someone mentioning an image search tool that was at least different from Google, if not better.

Is anyone aware of any other search tools?

I'm going crazy trying to find search results for an image I know that Google had returned once, but isn't any longer.

Many thanks.

Sorry! I just noticed that you had linked a specific image and, sadly, Tineye doesn't return it either.

When I look at the URL for your linked image, I notice that is has the padlock icon which I think means it's secured by encryption. Perhaps that's why Google and other web crawlers can't find it. Could it have been unsecured at one point, and therefore available to search engines then but not now?

I'm definitely out of my league here and hope that Deej, Daddy, or other experts can chime in and help you track it down. It's definitely a nice image! http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.png

Ah yes, I see. I tried passing Google an unencrypted link and it still didn't find a match.

That said, with both SSL and non-SSL URL's Google was able to display the original image and indicate there were no matches... which is frustrating because I know it had found one before.

(BTW - another image of the same guy).
