I watch straight porn mostly because I find the guys more attractive than most of the big names in gay porn. There are a lot of dudes that I find very hot with amazing forearms - that's what reels me in every single time. There's also a smaller pool of straight male porn actors, so I get to see more of the ones that I like. I also find a lot of gay porn a little too "precious" for me. I'm not so disappointed by bad blowjobs and odd, high-pitched wailing when it's a woman in straight porn. And I'm homoflexible - watching straight porn isn't way out of my wheelhouse.

That's fair. I don't know the current crop of straight porn actors at all, but as a group even in the old days they were better looking (IMO)--specifically, I used to think the no-name Euro guys in Private videos looked way better than the gay guys in then-contemporary vids. It stands to reason with the larger pool of potential hetero participants and few successes that the ones who "reached the top," so to speak, are better looking as a group.

 

I also agree gay porn has different stylistic tendencies and conventions, even when normalizing for activity. Every studio has a "house style," but I can see what you mean if by "precious" you mean "more formulaic."
