Just reached out to a very well reviewed and popular escort and he quoted me a rate higher than what other reviewers here have been recently charged. He has amazing reviews and I've been looking forward to meeting up with him for quite some time. I'm not sure if I should bring it up. Has anyone had similar experience ? Is this discrepancy something I should mention or should I just let it go ?

Does the escort have one of those "ask me" ads where his rate is not displayed? If his rate is displayed in his ad, you would pay that amount.

On the other hand, if the escort has the "ask me" type ad, and he quoted you a higher amount than others said they paid, is it difficult to ask the escort why his rate is higher for you than what he charged other clients?

You may have noticed over this past year that a lot of escorts have increased their rate to $300.00 (or more) regardless of where they are located. In other words, $300.00 for New York City and/or for a small city, even in Alabama, for example. This strange coincidence appears to indicate that escorts went through non specific rentmen ads and noticed that many rates are set at $300.00. In response to the $300.00 figure, arbitrarily increased their rates. This is only a guess on my part.

Whether the escorts get the higher rate is another matter.

It might be a good idea to ask the escort why his rate is higher for you than for others. His explanation might be to your advantage. Maybe the higher rate is a mistake, or, maybe he just joined the crowd and raised his rate to the higher figure.

This has happened to me twice recently, but not in the same way it has happened to you though.

In your case, maybe the guy decided to raise his rate because he sees rates are averaging out to a higher rate than a few months to years ago. You got caught in a rate transition period for him. So his past rates may not be inline with his current one. It could be exactly what @coriolis888 wrote to. Who knows. It's up to you if you want to see still the guy higher rate or not. Asking him about it may not make him change his mind.

In my case, one working guy had 250 for an incall rate at his hotel and 300 for an outcall. When I got there he told me the rate was 300. I said to him I thought his incall rate was 250. He then tried to convince me coming to him was an outcall because we were not at his home. Uhm... no! When he realized I wasn't convinced and about to leave, he changed his tune but still tried to make it seem I was incorrect about what an incall/outcall rate was. I'm ambivalent on whether I'll see him again.

The other guy had a specific rate on his ad. We talked months before we met and he quoted me for his time. When he finally got to town, he switched his rates twice. The first change he bumped up the rate and the next change he switched to ask me on his ad. When he contacted me to confirm the meet up, he gave me a higher rate. Which I promptly brought up the previous rate we had agreed upon. He then said he'd honor the original rate. He turned out to be a sweet guy. We had a lot of fun.

Do you think an appointment with him will be worth the higher rate? If so, then just pay it.

Thanks guys. His advertisement said "Ask" on the rates section. I didn't communicate anything out of the ordinary- just my stats. He gave me a rate for an out call a a couple of months ago when I was arranging to have him visit my hotel. Last week, I sent him a message saying I'd be happy to come to him instead since I decided to stay with friends and not a hotel. He seemed pretty understanding and flexible about the change. But the quote he gave me for the in-call was higher than what he has been charging in other reviews (the same as the out call rate actually).

Perhaps I'm over analyzing and will just ask him to double check :/

I'm probably overly sensitive about getting into a discussion with someone about their rates because I'm afraid it would lead to some lingering, unspoken resentment that would affect our time together. I think in this case, once the debate began, I'd probably have left believing the session was not salvageable. I'm curious if you got any sense from him after this that he was behaving differently than he otherwise would have?

Also, I also interpret an escort's hosting at a hotel as "Incall" - does anyone have a different interpretation?

I don't know that I would take a rate mentioned in a review as something to push back on. After all, it wasn't the escort who did the review. I guess if they were recent reviews and consistently 1 hour appointments for the exact same amount, one might wonder, but that's as far as I would personally go.

If you drag your ass to him it's an incall in my book -- whether it's his home or at a hotel. :) Now, if he arranged for the hotel because neither one of you could host, that's a slightly different story. (I am supremely lazy, so it's all about the travel in my book. :p)

Well everything was fine until that point. This occurred at the end of the session, when we were about to part ways. Even still, it was fine, just a bit of awkwardness, but we parted ways on good terms it seems. He asked if he could see me again surprisingly. He even contacted me to see if I wanted to meet up last time he was in my area. I couldn't because I was out of town then. However, even if I could have, I'm not sure I would after his stunt. I don't know if he was sincere in his assumption or trying to bilk me out of more funds.

That's a BINGO!!!! Mr. @MikeyGMin. I traveled to the hotel he was staying at for the time he was visiting. I know better. He obviously knew I wasn't buying what he was saying. He tried to write it off like I was in the wrong, but that it was ok... simple mistake. Yeah right!!!

Similar but not the same. Saw a well known guy several times and then after he was snatched off the market by a sugar daddy, he came back a year later and was significantly higher. Found other choices !

This has happened to me as well. A well known "masseur/escort who has been in LA advertising since at least 2001. I saw him A few times then saw his Adam 4 Adam ad and asked rates and they were lower than what I was paying..I of course I said wtf. And he said was a discount for new clients so I stopped seeing him right then and there. I mean I know I was paying but there is a point when you just have to say NO and move on. Luckily in LA and the surrounding areas there are new guys cropping up every month or so.
