I am saddened by this news. I had a conversation with him back in June about possibly meeting him in Vegas. RIP Alex. :(

I had done the same thing. And he was so sweet and responsive. Very saddened indeed...

Is the suicide rate among escorts / porn stars high?

I think getting caught up in the porn lifestyle might be a factor. Drugs seem to always be part of the equation too. Especially when you see suicides. That or just untreated depression and no insurance to be treated. He wouldn't be the first to die from having no access to medical care in this country.

Another factor is that escorting has an expiry date. When date arrives varies, of course -- you can move on to being a daddy, for a while. But when the bookings slow, or stop, you have to have another source of income -- another career. I'm not sure how many working guys have that option. Or have saved enough money over the years to retire on. These are just my very general speculations. They seem plausible to me, but I could well be wrong.

I think they may be generally true. But there are always outliers who don't fit the model. :)

Indeed. I was aware when I posted that I was dealing in generality. And I certainly hope there are many, many qualifications to what I think.

Excellent point and health providers are seeing more of this every day--patients in and out of care and on and off prescription antidepressants and other psychoactive medications because of the difficulty in getting coverage and getting in to an appointment. The other variable that always pops to me is that men are more likely to make severe attempts (e.g. gunshot to head) with little chance of being saved. RIP AG.

I don't think it was his case at 31, but I get your point. I've met so many guys who retired with absolutely nothing else but the stories and they made and burnt a fortune thinking it would last forever.

I know a top Falcon Legend from the 90's and early 2000's (golden era of VHS/DVD porno) who ended up his days sleeping at the basement of an escort agency and finally got kicked out and left on the street with a suitcase... The guy lived in a large city but never owned a car nor was able/willing to do incalls at his place, he just wasn't comfortable receiving folks at his home, he would only walk 10 blocks to see clients who lived or stayed nearby. A the time he was paid 3K to 5k per scene but he never saved any money. He never did drugs but he just had a lazy lifestyle and finally wasn't pretty enough to be on camera.

Don't PM me, I won't tell...
