Okay, I'll be the bitchy Queen who asks the tough questions. My Gaydar goes full throttle when I spend time with Robster and you. Is he possibly a queer (non-practicing)?
nope sorry your gaydar must be off....be practices every chance he gets!! :)

It would all be for not without the excellent and strict coaching he gets from you at home!

Love you guys!

Wonderful that we have met the goal but let's not stop now. Let's keep this going and thus provide these to great guys with a cushion.

@Socalguy: PLEASE check with the doctors about pain medication. "Being in a medical coma" is not the same as "having good pain control and being unconscious." There are stories I can relate, most of which are not appropriate fodder for this forum, but I'll share with a PM if you like.

If he's in a Burn Unit, I think they are probably attentive to his pain relief. As I'm sure you know, pain medications [appropriate term {learn it}: opioid analgesics] can slow the breathing. I assume he's being ventilated to (a) protect his airway, i.e., make sure that things don't swell so he can't breathe; (b) to sedate him adequately (see above).

As they "lighten" his sedation, they need to maintain adequate analgesia [pain relief]. ASK THAT QUESTION. You may not understand it, but they will, and they'll think you know what you're talking about. [my apologies if you alreay do].

Jewish tradition to give donations in amounts divisible by 18. 18 is a lucky number and it is related to long life, chai (which incidently is the subject of another posting with lots of hot men but with one wearing a chain about which an inquiry was made). Letters in Hebrew have a numberic value and the numeric value of chai is 18. I am not Jewish but I know Rob could be, I have seen him naked in the pool after all, and so I added the extra eight dollars. And as Paul Harvey used to say: Now you know the rest of the story.

Completely random comment: I grew up in the town Paul Harvey lived in, and went to school with his son.

I don't know either of you guys, but I can't even imagine what you're going through. I made a small donation but with a small stipulation. Please use the money I contributed to get a few drinks, catch a movie, whatever you enjoy that is totally not practical and enjoyable. Being a full time caregiver is incredibly hard and you guys are going to need some fun in life and not just dealing with the unfair blows life sometimes hands us.

I've been...<ahem>...."distracted"....the past few days. Just checking back in and really wish you guys well while recovering. Wayne and Rob are a sweet couple and good friends in our community.

Look forward to seeing yall again at PS 2017. :)

I will definitely do that. I am sure I am using the wrong terminology. They definitely seem to know what they are doing.

Thank you so much and I know exactly what to spend it on! :)

Thanks so much for your openness and letting us know of your need. I know it can be difficult to ask for help, but there are times in life when it's necessary and we are happy to. I'm gonna make a donation this evening. I wish I could do more but we are taking off for vacation soon and it will mean 2 weeks without income.

I'm not sure if this person wishes to identified but I hope they will post if it's ok to, but thanks to them, the page just passed $4000!!! Saying I'm speechless doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of what I am feeling right now!

Hey everybody let's not stop yet we need to aim for another $$981.00 to make it an even $5,000.00 so both guys concentrate on getting Rob well and ready to attend the 2017 Palm Spring Weekend.

I can put in some more around the first of October. Keep the site open.

I am completely overwhelmed by the response. I wish there were better words to express how incredibly grateful I am and how much this has relieved my mind. The generosity of the members on this board is staggering and if sheer willpower and love alone could heal Rob, we would have him completely healed by now. Today is a new day with new opportunities and chances for Rob to make further steps to getting better, including hopefully, getting off the ventilator. You have guaranteed that this is the only thing I have to concentrate on and I can't thank you enough.

Guys we have just broken the $5,000.00 bar. I would like to state here and now, in all sincerity and humility, how proud I am to be a part of this family of caring human beings. If I have, in the eyes of some participants, pushed too hard regarding this matter I apologize. As a rule, at my age (75), I avoid causes – but this one struck a chord for me. Two of the active members of our family found themselves in need and we circled the wagons and met the challenge. THANK YOU – THANK YOU – THANK YOU

P.S. I’m not suggesting that we cease contributing., thus if someone hasn’t contributed yet please do so, however, I feel it is now time for me to exit this thread.
