For those unfamiliar with the "femidom" it is a big and baggy polyurethane condom that fits inside the female rather than being worn by the male (although I gather it can be used that way). It's held in place by a fairly rigid ring that sits outside and there is another more flexible and smaller one inside it that can be taken out or used to fix it inside. The material is stronger than rubber and not affected by oils.

 

There were some suggestions when it first came out that it was good for anal sex as well because the "rubbing surface" is between the cock and the lubed inside of the condom rather than the outside of the male condom and the inside of the arse which can be injured as ordinary lube dries. The inner ring could be pushed past the inner anal spincter to secure it. Obviously care is needed to enter the condom rather than round it but the outer ring helps with the aim.

 

In another forum I suggested this might be a good prop to use for porn to avoid the pull out, take off condom, jerk to cum syndrome that tends to spoil the spontenaity of videos these days. It would make possible the safe filming of a guy starting to shoot as he withdraws from the bottom or reinsertion after cumming.

I actually use to use the female condom, as regular condom, with this boy that I use to date because magnums didn't feel big enough. I always took the ring out because I never understood what it was for. True story.

I use to use the female condom with women, and I thought it was great. You dont have the constriction of a regualr condom and you dont have to worry about it ripping or coming off.

yeah, I use them with my current bf due to constiction issues. It's also cool, because the bottom can already have the condom inserted allowing the top top jam in without having to first put on the condom. The polyurethane is stronger too and a great option for guys with latex allergies. They are a bit ellusive in stores and expensive to boot, but most community health centers give tons away for free.

Disclaimer: I have NO idea how well these work, and from a quick Google, it's pretty clear they are NOT approved for anal sex at this time (search "female condom anal"). They simply don't know how well female condoms protect anally. Another site I visited from that search indicated some people found them uncomfortable anally and a few reported bleeding (though that can happen with anal sex in general I suppose). I guess some people use them happily though.

 

I dunno if I'd personally try them. Just providing the link for those who might be curious. (And drugstore.com is very reliable - use them all the time for my routine purchases.)

 

If these did work well anally, that might actually be a really nice alternative.

A reliable source tells me it's mighty easy for the top to "jam it in" and miss the condom entirely. :-( He says some guys actually aim for that.
