Pain in the ass website.

I'd rather hire a recommended, good-looking man to spend my time with than a random dolt.

IMHO

For real. Full disclosure, I didn't even visit the site but there's something stigmatizing about having to "rentafriend". With my sincerest apologies in advance if that comes off as insensitive.

has anyone ever hired a guy just to do guy stuff with him?

I'm talking throwing a football around or playing air hockey or going bowling or to a ball game just doing dumb guy stuff -- I'm not always up for sex, but I do desire intimacy, roughhousing and playfulness.

I think it is often assumed that escorts are really just “prostitutes” by another name, but this is one of many threads that show this is my no means a safe assumption to make.

Sometimes people just want to spend time with a guy they find attractive, to go on a “date” as part of their coming out process, to talk with someone about issues they’re having in a safe, nonjudgmental environment, to hang out with a guy “just to do guy stuff” like going to a ballgame as you suggested, to have a handsome-looking companion to go to the opera with, to enact some jock-strap related personal trainer fantasy, like the one @Juan Vancouver was talking about, to hug and cuddle and kiss, or be tickled for that matter as @Brian Kevin mentioned, or any number of things that do not involve sex per se.

At the same time, it is probably not outlandish to suppose that some people who advertise as escorts are actually hired for sexual liaisons. But to the extent this is true, it probably serves the interests of everyone involved to maintain a degree of ambiguity about it. This approach is feasible in part because of the very real and legitimate examples above.

I still like to get tickled. It was really fun! The endorphins after wards was better than any high, drunk, etc I've ever experienced!

Don't be closed minded! Be OPEN minded. Just lay down your limits and boundaries and have a safe word. If you can't trust your client, you shouldn't be dating him. If I even think it won't go well I end the session. YOU are ALWAYS #1 never forget that!

This site sounds a little creepy. Reminds me of The Wedding Ringer. Sad.

I see the importance of this kind of thing. Some people are really, really closed off from the rest of the world. They didn't learn interpersonal skills at home or at school. I don't agree with it being a paid service as it's probably a bunch of creeps. I would love to see this for people fighting illnesses or cancer, people on their death beds, special needs children and adults, etc etc. but super creepy if your just looking to buy a friend for the afternoon, unless your somewhere for work and don't know anyone.

I agree on the rent a friend site being a little weird -- and I can't put my finger on why

it's INSANE to think I just can't go out and made friends that want to do some guy stuff

The problem is I had a buddy who fit the bill and then I just got -- I think they call it - 'ghosted.'

for me, having a buddy is like Oprah and Mac 'n Cheese; one spoonful is too much and the whole tray isn't enough.

appreciate the feedback folks.
