Indianapolis probably could host. It can handle an estimated crowd of 350,000 for the Indy 500. It has also hosted the Pan Am Games, A Super Bowl, and several Final Fours. Several of the US sports' governing bodies are headquartered there. Just not sure the community is that interested in hosting the event

It would be shocking to see such a red State turning down Federal money...

Obviously the Los Angeles game were a success because it was California and federal money is never available for the Blue Coast or the acela corridor ( Northeast)

Wow, so negative....

In Rio upwards of thirty thousand favelas (it would be a joke to call them homes) were mowed down and the residents and home owners left to fend for themselves. All this to make room for a new and shiny Olympic Park. Yes, I think this qualifies as a weapon of mass destruction.

Olympics are always beautiful and uplifting. Many find themselves cheering for the athletes and their families every night. The stories of the sacrifices made by the athletes and their families are heart warming. And yes, not all cities leave for themselves a legacy of financial ruin. But how many would it take for you to at least lift an eyebrow, and admit that we could do better.

BTW. I've never met your friend BOZO.

BTBTW. Text messages and chat rooms are a great way to communicate. However IMHO we lose something in translation from the brain/heart, through the fingers, through the keyboards, to wherever the words travel to end up here. Lack of tone of voice, eye contact, and facial expressions obviously are missing. And hints of irony, sarcasm, and dry wit sometimes are not received either.

Cheers.

He's not my friend but I thought he was yours.

It's a cities choice.

Hotels being turned into condos after the Olympics, man only a rocket science would think of something like it, right? It's a city's choice, they're a good way to do some urban renewal and clean up a whole neighborhood, but the facilities should have a meaning or be demolished later.

LA, Soul, Barcelona, Atlanta, Sydney, Beijing, they al had a good time after the games, Athens and Sochi didn't because corrupt politicians over spent.

When it comes to sarcasm I just write LOL.
