While I have no direct experience, I would imagine that these arrangements are so variable that it would be impossible to generalize. One advantage I see is that the parties probably would not have to worry about criminal liability. Unlike an interaction lasting an hour or an evening, a longer-term relationship (even of only a few weeks), would be much harder to characterize as prostitution, even if there is explicit financial support by one partner to the other. Indeed, many marriages throughout history have been premised on such an arrangement.

Silly euphemisms, like "Sugar Babies", drive me fucking crazy. I have always found it difficult to understand why people attempt to disguise what they really are or are doing. I also find it difficult to understand why people often insist on doing something in a half ass way. Why play at escorting? If one is going to escort then damnit do is right and stop playing silly ass games.

In some cases, legal concerns and social customs dictate that people be indirect and ambiguous rather than direct and transparent.

I hear what you’re saying, but aren’t both sides “playing games?” Instead of asking, “Why play at escorting?” you could just as easily ask, “Why play at hiring?” Anyway, the way I see it, it’s not really “half assed,” just different. One side goes on dates with someone he otherwise wouldn’t because doing so comes with certain “perks.” The other side pays for those perks so that he can go on dates with someone he couldn’t otherwise attract. It looks like a win-win to me, at least as long as both sides think the arrangement is worthwhile.

You just prefer one euphemism over another. Why do you think there is no euphemism in "escorting"? I don't know you, but I do not pay them to escort me.

I think "sugar daddy" and "sugar baby" refers to a sub gender inside the escorting world, another way of saying "regulars with a flexible money arrangement".

If we do not like euphemisms, let's talk about "prostitution" instead of "escorting".

In a way you are absolutely correct latbear4blk, and maybe I delude myself, but I think my euphemism is for a valid reason which is NOT to delude myself or anybody else. I don't use terms like prostitute or whore, for what I consider, very valid LEGAL reasons. On more than one occasion, on this site, I have referred to myself as a whoremnoger which is exactly what I am, however, I don't use it on an advertising site.
