I kind of wonder what a Congressman was doing walking around with a button that says "I 69" on it. He must really be dumb, or he was actually looking for some action. I can understand why the young peopel wanted the buttons. He could probably sell enough of the buttons to pay for the highway, and maybe get some action too.

It turns out this story is a hoax, as a Google search will show you. It was a funny story, but at the same time it's not funny that our society makes the story quite plausible.

Some names are just too difficult to live with. Ask Beaver College. They finally stopped the snickering by changing their name to Arcadia University.

 

I was the college class of 1969 and my college was at highway exit 69. We were very proud of that.
